Common Challenges You’ll Face as a New Camp Franchisee

Every new business venture will come with its set of challenges. And if you’re new to the world of franchising, owning your own business can seem overwhelming at first.

While you may not want to think about them, realizing what challenges you’re about to face is the first step in ensuring your long-term success.

Hiring new employees.

Perhaps the most important thing you’ll do before opening your doors to wagging tails and smiling faces is hire a staff. Your staff will be the people working with pups, greeting customers, and cleaning your location, so it’s important to spend a long time looking for the best, most dog-loving people out there.

When interviewing a potential dog trainer, make sure to ask him/her these seven questions.

Managing your cash flow.

Managing your cash flow during your first few months will be difficult, but not impossible. The best way to ensure you have enough money to cover your expenses is to not bite off more than you can chew. Choose a location that’s within your budget and hire only necessary employees at first. Once you become more comfortable in the future, you can always hire more people and grow your business.

Delegating work.

Any new business owner will tell you that your business will become your new baby. While you may want to do everyone’s job throughout the day, that’s just not realistic. So long as you took your time and hired the most capable people you could find, you should feel comfortable delegating work to others. If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, you may want to reconsider your hiring process.

Self-doubt.

Especially if you were used to a stable paycheck at your last job, becoming an entrepreneur can be as stressful as it is exciting. Doubting yourself is natural, but you need to remember that you chose a franchise with name recognition, and proven business model, and loyal customers. If you’re really nervous about going into business for yourself, you may want to consider bringing in a partner with more business experience.
