Camp Bow Wow Leads the Pet Care Industry with 2018 Growth and Successes

Last year proved to be a record-breaking year for Camp Bow Wow, and we couldn’t thank our customers, Camp owners, and employees enough for that!

2018 Highlights

Our Fourth Consecutive Year as #1 in Pet Business Franchises

Since 2016, Camp Bow Wow has ranked #1 on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list in the Pet Services category. In 2018, we ranked #193 among all franchises for our outstanding performance in unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power.

Camp Growth

To say that 2018 was a year of growth for us would be an understatement! Last year:

  • We opened 20 new locations and closed the year with a grand total of 165 Camps.
  • Annual Camp owner discretionary income increased to $165,694 and the top 25% average increased to $268,1954;
  • Annual gross revenue per Camp reached $878,850 on average, with $1,291,047 on average for the top 25% Camps and $2,248,724 as the system high;
  • Camp Bow Wow welcomed over 270,000 four-legged customers in 2018, a 9% increase in total customer count.

"At the core of Camp Bow Wow's significant growth in 2018 is the strong partnership between our corporate support team and franchise owners that allows us to reach new milestones together," said Camp Bow Wow President, Cail Morrison.

The Launch of Data Dawg 2.0

Data Dawg 2.0 is a responsive platform, designed to ease day-to-day business management for franchise owners. "Data Dawg 2.0 is uniquely tailored to Camp Bow Wow's business strategy and franchise owner needs, which is what makes it so powerful," said Steve Ricard, Vice President of Technology at Camp Bow Wow. "By building our software through Google's leading-edge angular framework, everything is new from the ground up and ensures the software can keep up with the company's growth for many years to come."

The #GiveAFetch Campaign

A further testament to the brand’s achievements, Camp Bow Wow received the Gold Stevie® Award in “Marketing Campaign of the Year” for the company’s dynamic #GiveAFetch campaign. In an effort to promote responsible pet parenting and celebrate the amazing things pet parents do for their pooches every day, we were thrilled to bring back our #GiveAFetch campaign for the second year. And not only did we celebrate dog owners and their furry friends this year, but we donated $40,000 to rescues and shelters across the country in the process!

Looking Forward to 2019

2018 was an incredible year for Camp Bow Wow and that success has only fueled our desire to exceed expectations in 2019. Just a few months into the new year and we’re on track to meet our projected goal of reaching 20 new Camps in 2019, with four new Camps already opened this year.
