Frozen Treats Your Dog Will Love

With temps rising and the sun shining brighter than ever, this summer is looking to be a scorcher! You and your dog deserve cold treats to keep cool and comfy through the sweaty days ahead.

So, while you enjoy a cold beverage or a bowl of ice cream this summer, here are some of our favorite puppy pawpsicle recipes for your furry friend to enjoy:

Simple, But Effective

If you’re looking for an easy recipe that doesn’t require much effort, this is for you. Simply grab a bowl, place one of their toys inside, fill it with water, and freeze! You could also add a few bits of kibble or treats to the water before freezing to give them a little extra something to work for.

Once ready, this will help cool your dog down and keep them entertained as they lick away the ice and reveal their favorite toy.

Strawberry Banana Goodness

This recipe has three ingredients: strawberries, bananas, and dog-friendly yogurt. Freeze the fruit ahead of time and blend with the yogurt until smooth. Then pour into a popsicle mold, freeze, and serve up to your dog.

This one will smell good enough for you to eat!

Here’s a tip: Instead of popsicle sticks (your dog doesn’t need them), add a dog bone or large treat to the mix before freezing.

Peanut Butter Berry Mix

We all know how crazy some pups can go for peanut butter, so why not add some to their pawpsicle? For this recipe, you will need:

  • Bananas
  • Blueberries
  • Dog-friendly peanut butter
  • Dog-friendly yogurt
  • Water
  • Honey

Add all the ingredients to a blender and combine until smooth and creamy. Freeze in a popsicle mold, and two hours later, your pup will be the happiest pooch on the block!

Remember that your pup gets warm in the summer sun just like you. Be sure to provide them with plenty of water, give them time to rest, and sit in the shade when possible when outdoors together this season.
