What Kind of Franchise is Right for Me?

Business is one of the most versatile industries you could ever enter. From mom and pop shops to cross country franchises, there are a few different avenues you can take if you’re interested in entrepreneurship. Though we may be a bit biased, we can “yappily” say that franchising is our favorite!

With a fast speed of growth, low-risk, increased profits, and the ability to be your own boss, franchising is a lucrative business option for many people. That being said, franchising is still a broad term that describes a number of different businesses.

If you’re considering a career as a franchisee, it’s important to join a franchise you’re passionate about.

What do you want out of your franchise experience?

Of course, financial success is something we hear a lot. But other than that, what are you really looking for in a franchise? Many of our franchisees join Camp Bow Wow because they’re looking for:

  • Passion-driven work
  • A flexible work schedule
  • A chance to give back to the community
  • The opportunity to be their own boss and make executive decisions

How much money do you have to invest?

From $10,000 to $5 million, startup costs range drastically from franchise to franchise. The startup investment for a Camp Bow Wow franchise is all-inclusive and ranged from $783,500 to $1,485,000 in 2017. Startup costs depend on a variety of factors including the size of your facility, construction costs, and your local market and may be lower or higher than the range from 2017 shared above.*

If like many people, you don’t have that money in savings, we encourage potential franchisees to take out commercial loans, take on a partner, or borrow from an angel investor.

*For more information on these costs, please refer to Item 7 of our 2018 Franchise Disclosure Document. Your costs may vary depending on a number of factors.

Do you enjoy working with animals?

Unlike many other franchises, we don’t accept anyone and everyone who has the money to start a Camp Bow Wow. As Trevor Robinson, our director of franchise development, explained at the Franchise Expo South in Ft. Lauderdale, “you don’t get past me if you don’t love dogs and just want to make money.”

What makes Camp Bow Wow so unique is each franchisee’s genuine love for dogs and animals. If you don’t love dogs, Camp Bow Wow isn’t the right fit.
