When I came from AZ, I got my baby into this place as soon as I could. I loved their cameras so I could check in on him whenever I pleased because I was anxious to leave him with strangers. But as time passed, I would pay for "enrichment," which can be walkies or play time or whatever. Every single walk I got an email with pictures to show how happy my boy was. Last week I had to put him down due to a medical emergency, and even though I had pictures of him, I especially loved the updates I got at pick up and the emails. The staff was so great, they sympathized, they knew who he was, and they resent all the photos they had of him so I could remember him again. I recommend this place so much because of the caring staff.

We've always had such a positive experience with Camp Bow Wow! The staff is always helpful, considerate, and welcoming. One thing I really appreciate is that they always greet my dog enthusiastically by name, even when she hasn't been there in ages. It's a small thing, but it gives me so much confidence in the care she receives while she's there. She clearly loves it too. Whenever I pick up her "Camp Bow Wow" collar, she gets so excited because she knows exactly where she's going. Seeing how happy she is to go makes it that much easier to leave her knowing she's somewhere she enjoys being and is well cared for.

I've owned four Golden Retrievers over the years, and each one has taught me something about what real, attentive dog care should look like. My last Golden attended a competing facility, and while it was convenient, the experience never felt right. Dogs were crated for long stretches, let out only briefly into a very small yard, and any question I asked, no matter the day or the concern, was met with the same generic line: "She did great." It didn't inspire confidence. Then I found Camp Bow Wow Delaware North in Newark, for my 18-month-old Golden, and the difference was immediate. Yes, it's a longer drive for me. But the level of care, compassion, and genuine engagement the Counselors show makes every extra mile worth it. They don't just "watch" your dog, they know your dog. Ask them anything, and they can tell you how your dog played, who they interacted with, what made them excited, and how their day truly went. Their love for the animals isn't something they talk about; it's something you see in every interaction. Elsa Joy, my current Golden, thrives there. I would drive an hour if I had to for this quality of care. And one more thing: in all my years with four Goldens, I have never boarded any of them. I'm particular about where my dogs stay. But if I ever needed to board Elsa, Camp Bow Wow Delaware North is the only place I would trust. Exceptional people. Exceptional care. A facility that treats your dog like family, because to them, they are. Oh, don't forget the grooming with Kyla — beyond awesome.

Her feeding, grooming, and exercise needs are met and she is clearly loved on during her stays at Camp Bow Wow. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The facilities are clean and spacious and Lily enjoys the extras such as agility training, grooming, and extra walks and cuddles.

Skye loved it! The staff was kind to me and my pup. They introduced her slowly to the new environment and brought in age/personality appropriate dogs for the meet and greet. She was so tired when she got home but was trying to stay awake for her big walk at 8 p.m. She was awake but not up for the hour-long walk. A successful day! We are definitely going to bring her back for more socialization and to wear her out. A tired puppy is a happy puppy.

8/2 First time taking my Kai for his interview and 3 hour stay. He loved it, and I was very comfortable with the staff. Picked him up and he was exhausted, only ate half his food for the night, and crashed out by 8 p.m. that night and didn’t even want to go to the bathroom in the morning until I took him out today, 8/3, at 2 p.m. Can’t wait for another day, which will be probably Thursday, 8/6.

We brought our 10 month old pup, who is afraid of everyone and anything new, in for an interview. He did well enough to progress to the next step, but we were advised that, based on his general fear and nervousness, it may be a situation that is so uncomfortable for him that it may make it even harder to get him socialized. It was left up to us whether to continue or try again. I agreed that it was best to try again. We were told that they have socialization sessions every Saturday at noon for an hour with the trainer, Sean, so I took them up on that. Everyone there was kind, friendly, and professional. Sean did a great job during the social session, so we will be bringing our pup in for a couple of training sessions with Sean before we try again to get him to face to face with other dogs. Only four stars at this point because we ultimately want to try daycare and boarding, so there is still a lot left to judge, but based on what I have experienced so far I'm pretty sure they'll earn that last star.
