How to Succeed After Setting Up Camp

The decision to join the Pack and set up Camp is a big one, but one that can be very prosperous and rewarding if handled with care. At Camp Bow Wow, we set up our franchise owners for success in the best way we know how, but at the end of the day it really is up to the business owners to take their Camp to the next level. For all those Camp owners out there – new and old – here’s what we suggest you do to help your business succeed.

Be passionate.

Let your passion for both business and dogs lead the way to greatness. As one of the most famous entrepreneurs in recent history, Steve Jobs, once put it, “the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

Keep yourself motivated.

Owning a Camp is a lot of work, and with all those pups running around it can be a pretty high-energy environment. Remember to take some time out to clearly define your goals for the year and refer to them often to keep your business on track.

Lead by example.

At Camp Bow Wow, we believe that a great business owner is able to instill a strong service culture surrounding his or her Camp. The best way to do that is to lead by example. Show your employees that you’re willing to get down in the trenches with them. After all, they’re your best asset when it comes to taking your business to the top.

Hone your business skills.

A successful franchise owner possesses a strong business acumen, meaning that he or she is able to make quick decisions and good judgement calls. Learn all that you can about Camp Bow Wow, the pet care industry, and your local market. That way, when those hard decisions arise, you’ll be able to handle them with confidence.

Get involved.

Building trust between your Camp and your community is key, which is why it’s so important to get involved in the local area. Be on the lookout for events involving dogs and pet parents, and never miss an opportunity to set up at a local fair!
