How to Keep Your Dog Warm This Winter

Let’s face it: winter is on the way. For some, this may mean snow — while for others, it might mean a change in sunshine. No matter what the weather forecast might be where our Campers live, there is always a possibility that our furbaby friends may get cold from time to time. That’s why we’ve come up with some pretty paw-some ways to help them stay warm and comfortable!

Bundle Up!

One of the simplest ways to keep pups warm this winter is to buy them a coat or sweater. That’s right: your little buddy will feel so much warmer when they’re wearing a one-of-a-kind winter outfit! Before you purchase a coat or sweater for your furbaby though, it’s important to determine what their size will be. The best way to do this is to take them to your local pet store (if allowed) and have them try on a few choices. The most important aspect to keep in mind is that the outfit shouldn’t be restricting and must be comfortable for them — because their comfort (and safety) is the most im-paw-tent aspect!

Keep It Short!

Another way to keep pups warm this winter is to limit outdoor playtime. Here at Camp, we always keep a close eye on our campers and make sure they’re having fun — while staying warm. That’s why we limit their outdoor playtime in snow-prone climates. When at home, it’s important to let your furbaby play around in the cold/snow — because they will love it! However, always supervise them and never let them stay outside for too long. Dogs have a tendency to get colder faster because their bare paws are on the ground. If there’s snow on the ground, always make sure to shovel a tiny path for your pooch — which will make playtime much more fun (and easy)!
