Frequently Asked Questions | Camp Bow Wow Lafayette
Everything You Need to Know Before Your Dog’s First Day
We’ve been caring for dogs in Lafayette, Louisiana since 2009, and over the years we’ve heard just about every question a pet parent can ask. Owner Suzette Tardo Fowler built Camp Bow Wow Lafayette on transparency, and this page puts our most common answers in one place. From vaccine requirements to what happens at bedtime, you’ll know exactly what to expect before your pup ever sets paw through our door.
Readers of The Times of Acadiana have recognized us with “Best of” honors for boarding, grooming, and retail. We don’t take that lightly. It means families across Lafayette Parish trust us with their dogs, and we work every day to earn that trust.

Dog Daycare at Camp Bow Wow Lafayette
Our daycare runs on an open-play format. Dogs spend the day moving freely between indoor and outdoor play areas, socializing with other pups, and burning off energy under the supervision of our Certified Camp Counselors. No crates, no isolation, no boredom.
What Does My Dog Need to Start?
Every dog completes a Camper interview before their first day. This screening lets our counselors meet your pup, assess your pup’s temperament, and confirm the group environment is a good fit. Dogs must be current on their DHPP, rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, and we recommend the Leptospirosis vaccine annually. Puppies need to be at least four months old and fully vaccinated to join.
Dogs must also be spayed or neutered by seven months of age to participate in daycare. This policy protects the comfort and safety of every dog in our care.
Is There a First-Day Cost?
New Campers receive their first day of daycare free. It’s our way of letting your dog try Camp with no commitment on your end.
Can I Check on My Dog During the Day?
Yes. Our Live Camper Cams stream throughout the day, and you can log in from your phone or computer at any time. Watching your dog play is genuinely one of the better parts of the day.
Overnight Dog Boarding
Boarding at Camp is a full experience, not just a place to sleep. Your dog spends the day in open play alongside our daycare Campers, then settles into a comfortable overnight cabin when the day winds down. Every boarding dog receives a Campfire Treat™ as part of their overnight routine. The nightly rate is all-inclusive, covering full-day access to our play areas and a cozy space to rest, with no hidden fees or add-on charges for playtime.
Boarding dogs must be current on their DHPP vaccine, and we recommend the Leptospirosis vaccine annually for boarding guests as well. Our Certified Camp Counselors are trained in dog behavior, CPR, and pet first aid, so your dog is looked after whether it’s midday or the middle of the night.
Dog Training in Lafayette
Our training program is led by a CPDT-certified trainer, meaning your dog learns from someone who has met a nationally recognized standard in training knowledge and technique. The approach is reward-based and works for dogs at a range of ages and skill levels.
Training fits naturally alongside a daycare or boarding stay, making Camp Bow Wow Lafayette a single destination for your dog’s enrichment and behavior. Call us at (337) 337-3698 to find out which training options are currently available and what might suit your dog best.
Dog Grooming
We offer full-service grooming at our Lafayette location. A grooming appointment can be added to a daycare or boarding visit, so your dog goes home both tired and clean. Reach out to us directly for current service options and availability.
Managing Your Camp Account
You can manage reservations and update your dog’s profile through your online account on our website or through the Camp Bow Wow mobile app. Both options let you book stays, review your dog’s records, and stay connected to Camp without picking up the phone.
Communities We Serve
We’re proud to serve dog families throughout Lafayette Parish and the surrounding area. Pet parents regularly bring their pups to us from New Iberia, St. Martin Parish, Breaux Bridge, Broussard, Carencro, Scott, and Youngsville. If you’re within driving distance, we’d love to meet your dog.
