Dog Day Care in Hillsboro
Give Your Pup a Fun, Safe Day at Camp
When you are away at work or running errands, it can be hard not to picture your dog bored or lonely at home. At Camp Bow Wow® Hillsboro, our dog day care gives your pup a full day of safe play, social time, and rest so you can focus on your day without the guilt.
We welcome dogs who live or play in Hillsboro, OR and nearby communities, and we create an environment where they can romp, relax, and feel right at home. Our Camp Counsellors are in the play yards with the dogs, encouraging healthy play and keeping a close eye on every interaction. Each new Camper goes through a thorough screening so play groups stay safe and comfortable.
Pet parents can also log into our web cameras to see how much fun their dogs are having throughout the day. If you are curious about whether Camp is right for your dog, you can call (971) 459-1037 to schedule a tour or book a first day with us.

Why Choose Our Day Care
Choosing a place to care for your dog is a big decision. We understand that you are not just picking a service, you are trusting someone with a member of your family. At Camp Bow Wow Hillsboro, our focus is on your dog’s happiness and well-being every moment they are with us. We work to provide more than basic supervision. We aim to give dogs a full Camp experience.
Our open-play environment means dogs can be dogs. They run, romp, and socialise in spacious indoor and outdoor areas while our Camp Counsellors stay in the yards. This setup helps dogs positively burn energy and supports healthy social skills. Instead of spending most of the day in a crate, your dog can enjoy movement, sniffing, and playing with new friends, then relax in a cosy cabin when it is time to rest.
We keep our pricing transparent and all-inclusive, which helps families in Hillsboro budget for care with confidence. Our goal is to avoid surprise add-ons so you know what your dog’s day includes. Playtime, attention from our team, and plenty of love are part of the experience, not extras. We treat each dog like our own, paying attention to their comfort level, energy, and personality, and adjusting their day to suit their needs as best we can in a group setting.
Because we also offer boarding, grooming, and training at many Camps, you can often plan your dog’s care in one place. This can help busy pet parents manage work, travel, and home life while keeping their dogs’ routine as consistent as possible. Many dogs arrive at Camp excited to see familiar faces and friends, and pet parents often enjoy calmer evenings at home after a full day of play.
What Your Dog’s Day Looks Like
It helps to picture exactly what your dog will do from drop-off to pickup. When you arrive at Camp in Hillsboro, a Camp Counsellor will greet you and your dog, confirm any notes for the day, and bring your pup back to their play group. New Campers who have passed their screening join a group that matches their size and play style so they can settle in comfortably.
Throughout the morning, dogs enjoy supervised play in our indoor and outdoor yards. On clear days, we spend plenty of time outside so pups can soak up fresh air and sunshine. When the Northwest weather turns rainy, our indoor spaces keep dogs active and social without missing out on fun. Fresh water is always available, and our team watches body language to keep play fair and friendly.
Most dogs benefit from a mix of action and downtime. We schedule breaks in our cosy cabins so Campers can relax and recharge between play sessions. Rest time helps prevent dogs from getting over-tired, which can make it easier for them to enjoy the entire day and head home calm but happy. Your dog’s exact schedule may vary based on their needs and group energy, but we strive to strike a healthy balance.
A typical day at Camp often includes:
- Morning check-in, greeting by Camp Counsellors, and joining the right play group
- Active play sessions in indoor and outdoor yards with constant supervision
- Midday rest in a comfy cabin so pups can recharge between playtimes
- Afternoon play and social time with familiar friends and new faces
- Pick up with a report on how your dog’s day went and how they did in group
During the day, you can peek at our web cameras to see your dog playing and resting. Many families in the area tell us that being able to watch their pup during lunch or between meetings provides real peace of mind. Our goal is for you to feel included in your dog’s day, even when you cannot be by their side.
Safety, Screening, & Cleanliness
Safety is often the number one concern for pet parents who are considering group day care. We take that responsibility seriously. Before any dog joins our play yards, they go through a Camper screening that helps us understand their personality and comfort level around other dogs. We review health records, talk with you about your dog’s history, and observe how they respond in our environment.
Once your dog has passed their screening, we place them in a play group with dogs of similar size and play style whenever possible. This approach can help shy dogs feel more at ease and let high-energy pups play with friends who match their enthusiasm. Our Camp Counsellors stay present in the yards to guide interactions, redirect overly excited play, and offer breaks if a dog seems overwhelmed or tired.
Clean, comfortable spaces are another key part of safety. We follow cleaning routines to help keep play areas, cabins, and common spaces fresh. Our team checks water bowls, bedding, and surfaces throughout the day so your dog has a pleasant place to rest between bursts of activity. We strive to keep the facility smelling clean and looking tidy so both dogs and humans feel at ease.
Transparency is also important. Our web cameras give you a window into your dog’s experience, which can be especially helpful on those first few visits. If you ever have questions about how your dog is doing, you can reach out to our team, and we will share what we are seeing in their play group. We want you to feel as comfortable as your dog does when you choose our day Camp in Hillsboro.
More Than Playtime for Your Pup
Regular visits to Camp can provide benefits that reach beyond a single fun day. Many dogs thrive on routine and consistent social time. When your dog attends day care, they have repeated chances to practice polite greetings, read other dogs’ body language, and spend time in a supportive setting. Over time, this kind of supervised interaction can contribute to better manners in other situations as well.
Play at Camp is not only physical. Dogs use their noses and minds too. New scents, different toys, rotating playmates, and varied yard setups all give your dog mental stimulation. A well-exercised and mentally engaged pup often settles more easily at home, which can make evenings more relaxing for everyone in the household.
For many families in Hillsboro, convenience matters just as much as enrichment. Having boarding, grooming, and training available at the same location can simplify your planning. You might schedule a bath after a few days of play or plan for overnight boarding in a familiar place when you travel. Keeping so many aspects of your dog’s life under one roof can help maintain their comfort and routine.
Day Camp can support your dog by:
- Offering regular socialisation in a supervised, structured setting
- Providing healthy physical exercise to help manage extra energy
- Adding mental stimulation through new sights, smells, and activities
- Giving shy or young dogs a chance to build confidence over time
- Supporting a consistent routine when paired with boarding or grooming visits
Every dog is unique, so their exact experience will depend on their personality and comfort level. Our team pays attention to how each Camper is doing and works to adjust rest breaks, play styles, and encouragement so that dogs leave Camp content and ready to come back.
How to Get Started With Camp
Getting set up with our Camp is a simple process, and we are here to walk you through each step. The first move is to contact our team so we can answer questions, talk about your dog’s needs, and help you schedule a Camper screening. Many pet parents in Hillsboro plan their visit around work schedules, often dropping off on the way into town and picking up on the way home.
Before your dog’s first day, we will review health requirements and have you complete some basic forms. This helps us understand your dog’s routine, any special notes, and how we can best support them in a group setting. On the scheduled day, you will bring your dog to Camp, and a Counselor will guide you through check-in while we help your pup settle in.
Our pricing is designed to be clear and all-inclusive, so you know what your dog’s stay covers. Playtime in the yards, rest in cosy cabins, and attentive care from our Camp Counsellors are part of the day. If you want extra services, such as grooming or additional enrichment options where available, we will explain those costs up front.
Throughout that first day, you can check in on your dog with our web cameras and reach out to us if you have questions. After pickup, we share how the day went and what we noticed about your dog’s play style and comfort level. When you are ready to schedule your dog’s next visit, our team will help you find a schedule that fits your routine in the area.
If you are ready to see how much your pup can enjoy dog day care at our Camp, we would be happy to meet you both. To learn more or book your first visit, call (971) 459-1037 and our team will help you get started.
Frequently Asked Questions
What will my dog do all day at Camp?
Your dog will spend the day in supervised play yards with dogs of similar size and play style, with breaks in a cosy cabin for rest. They enjoy indoor and outdoor time, regular access to water, and plenty of attention from our Camp Counsellors.
How do you make sure my dog is safe?
We start with a Camper screening to understand your dog’s behaviour and comfort level, then place them in suitable play groups. Our Camp Counsellors stay in the yards to monitor interactions, and we follow cleaning routines to keep spaces comfortable and sanitary for every Camper.
My dog is shy. Will they enjoy day care?
Many shy dogs warm up when introduced thoughtfully. We take time during the screening to see how your dog responds, then ease them into a group that matches their pace. Our team watches for signs of stress and offers breaks so your pup can build confidence gradually.

Can I check on my dog during the day?
Yes, you can. We offer web cameras so you can log in and see your dog in the play yards or resting during the day. If you have specific questions, you can also contact our team, and we will share how your pup is doing in Camp at that time.

Dog Daycare FAQs
Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Hillsboro is here to help!
-
Yes, Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs attending daycare to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s also recommended that dogs receive the Leptospirosis vaccine annually, as it can be deadly and spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects dogs from four serious and contagious illnesses: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs continue booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion usually given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all dogs attending daycare at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog daycare, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
-
Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs must be spayed or neutered at 7 months of age in order to receive daycare and boarding services.
- Camp Bow Wow understands that the choice to spay or neuter and at what age is a decision to be made for each individual dog and by the dog’s owner and veterinarian.
- For safety in a play group, dogs must be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age to take part in boarding or daycare services at Camp Bow Wow.
- As dogs reach sexual maturity, they are able to reproduce and hormonal changes occur that can alter behavior or may cause tension amongst other dogs within the group dynamic. This can impact the safety of all Campers and is not advised for open play environments.
-
Dogs staying overnight can be dropped off anytime that day during Camp hours. We suggest arriving before 4 p.m., so they can play, eat, and play again before bedtime. While you can check your pup in and out anytime during Camp hours at no additional cost, we do request you pick them up 15 minutes before closing, so we can tuck in our Overnight Campers.
-
This measure is to ensure the safety of all our Campers. Dogs can become possessive of toys, which can cause an altercation. If small pieces are torn off or broken off, a dog could choke or swallow and cause an obstruction.
-
You can view the free live webcams on the Camp Bow Wow website via your computer, tablet, or mobile device. We also invite you to download our iPhone or Android app to easily access the cameras from anywhere. The cameras are on during business hours when the pups are at play. Many locations offer luxury suites with 24/7 access to the suite’s webcam.
