About the Job

Camp Bow Wow, Reno South is seeking for a friendly Dog Groomer to perform all grooming-related duties necessary to ensure that all dogs are neat, clean, and look their best. The Groomer’s responsibilities include bathing animals of various sizes and temperaments, trimming, clipping, or shaving hair/fur, and removing matted hair.

  • Detangling and/or de-matting hair as required
  • Bathing, conditioning, and drying pets
  • Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears
  • Utilize grooming equipment, including shears and dryers
  • Grooming and styling pets according to dog owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.
  • Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing the pet parent(s) of these observations

Dog Groomer Requirements:

  • Certification through the National Dog Groomer Association of America (NDGAA) is a plus
  • Proven professional grooming experience
  • Understanding of dog behavior
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time, and the ability to lift heavy dogs and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills

Reporting

  • Camp Manager

Availability

Must be able to work flexible schedule - Camp is open 7 days/week, 6:00am to 7:00pm, weekends and holidays are required but time off is permitted with advance notice.

About the Job

A Camp Counselor will monitor the dogs to ensure their wellness and safety in the indoor/outdoor play yards. Heavy cleaning is a big part of the job – deep cleaning the dog yards and cabins on a regular basis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor dogs in play yard.
  • Maintaining a clean environment.
  • Feeding, cleaning cabins, lifting heavy items.
  • Constantly walking and interacting with dogs and team members.
  • MAINTAINING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT!
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Managing schedules and appointments.
  • Checking in and out dogs.
  • Be active and attentive to dogs and pet parents at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Extremely energetic, outgoing, upbeat with a positive personality.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace, in a team environment, and have exceptional customer service skills!
  • MUST LOVE DOGS - the noise, the hair, the messes, the love, and the smiles!!!

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years or older.
  • Be able to lift dog food and supplies.
  • Constantly walk and/or stand entire shift.

  • Camp Counselor Lead
