Camp Bow Wow Colorado Springs Lends a Paw to Veteran in Need

At Camp Bow Wow, our number one goal is to offer an easy pet care solution for pet parents in need of doggy day care services, all while providing pups with a fun, safe place to run, jump and romp with furry friends. So, when we heard about one local veteran’s immediate need for pet care, we knew we had to leap into action right away.

Blue is the 15-year old lovable companion of a military veteran and fellow Colorado Springs resident. Unfortunately, his owner was suddenly hospitalized, leaving Blue without a caretaker and at risk of being euthanized.

Fortunately, the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs learned of Blue’s predicament and reached out to the Peak Military Care Network, a local non-profit organization aimed at assisting military service members and their families by connecting them to trusted resources. And you guessed it — they called on Camp Bow Wow and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation!

With our help, Blue was given a loving home for the past three and a half months, before finding his next fur-ever home with another veteran. Today, he’s happy, safe and cared for, as he always should be!

We’re happy to have been able to help both a veteran and orphaned pup in need, and are humbled to have received the “I Care” award from the VA and Peak Military Care Network. We said it before, and we’ll say it again: In our line of work, the most important item on the agenda is always the dogs! Housing them, training them, and most importantly, loving them.
