CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Camp Bow Wow® provides a fun, safe and upscale environment for dogs to play, romp and receive lots of love and attention! Camp Bow Wow is a premier doggy day care and overnight boarding facility. We are looking to hire fun, energetic, hardworking people who LOVE dogs!

Camp Counselors support daily operations by overseeing the interactive behaviors of day care and overnight Campers and by maintaining a clean and safe facility. Full-time and part-time positions are available and our schedule is flexible!

We are open 365 days a year so availability on weekends and holidays is a must. Our team works hard and they work together; our core values at Camp are Kindness, Compassion, and Respect. We are an inclusive environment and strive to make the workday enjoyable!

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the safety of all Campers by following strict operational policies.
  • Manage groups of dogs of various sizes in an open play yard environment.
  • Observe and learn canine behavior and body language in order to appropriately assign Campers to the proper play yards.
  • Feed Campers as directed.
  • Perform health and happiness checks on Campers throughout the day.
  • Perform baths, nail trims, and other basic grooming tasks.
  • Clean play yards, cabins, and all common spaces: mopping, sweeping and scrubbing.
  • Willingness to become Pet First Aid and CPR certified.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A love of dogs and a passion for their proper care, health and happiness.
  • No direct experience required, but previous experience working with dogs a plus!
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and some holidays.
  • Punctuality is key in this role—we open early every single day of the year.
  • Ability to stand/walk for an entire shift and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Salary/wage is competitive and commensurate upon experience ($12-15/hour)

CAMP BATHER/GROOMING APPRENTICE JOB DESCRIPTION

Camp Bathers provide a valuable service to our customers and Groomers are in high demand! We prefer to promote from within so there is a lot of opportunity for career growth in this position. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

  • Willingness to learn additional grooming skills over time (shaving paw pads, gland expression, sanitary trims, outline trims, cleaning up faces/ears, etc.)
  • Willingness to become Pet First Aid and CPR certified.

Assistant Manager, Camp Bow Wow Flower Mound


Job Description 
Camp Bow Wow® provides a fun, safe and upscale environment for dogs to play, romp and receive lots of love and attention! Camp Bow Wow Flower Mound is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team.

Our facility is consistently in the Top 10 across the CBW franchise system; this family-owned and operated location is busy and in its 4th year. We are looking to hire an experienced professional to help us manage our growing business and staff. We like to promote from within so there is opportunity for upward growth!

An Assistant Manager should work with the owners and other managers to help oversee staff and operations. Our operational and customer service standards are high so attention to detail is a must. The ideal candidate would have:

  • 2+ years of direct experience in the animal care, hospitality, or child-care industry
  • A comprehensive understanding of customer service best practices
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Pet CPR & First Aid knowledge (prior certification is ideal)
  • 1+ years of direct experience managing a dog day care/boarding operation, a restaurant, hotel front of house, or other high customer service-driven business operation
  • Outstanding decision-making skills and the ability to mitigate risk through those decisions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain service level, multi-task and manage customer requests during the morning and afternoon rush

Qualifications

  • Prior professional experience managing/overseeing staff & customer service (2+ years preferred)
  • Excellent communication and detail-oriented computer skills are a must (we use Outlook, Google Calendar, Canva, and a proprietary CRM for reservations.)
  • Certification in Pet CPR & First Aid, or a willingness to become certified. Knowledge in basic canine wound care, medications, and health is a must.
  • Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day Front Desk and Back of House operations
  • Ensure all staff follow health, safety, & sanitation procedures
  • Perform regular inventory of supplies, cleaning solutions, tools, etc.
  • Meet owner-set goals for service, operations, and financial results
  • Perform exceptional front-line customer service
  • Communicate with and motivate staff in a positive, constructive way

Compensation/Benefits

  • Salary/wage is competitive and commensurate upon experience ($15-$20/hour)
