James has been with Camp Bow Wow Boulder for over 3 years. He took a year off to head back East but just couldn’t stay gone long. He originally wanted to work with dogs just for the interim until he could figure out what else to do. What started out as just any ‘ole job, turned into the opportunity to work with an amazing staff and for the most stellar boss! Now his career goals are simply to become financially independent. James feels that Camp has become his home away from home. There is not a day that he isn’t excited to come into work!
Spending time and getting to know all of our clients – whether they have two or four legs—is James’ favorite thing to do at Camp. In fact, one of the most memorable stories about James comes from a chat with a sweet client a few years ago. While trying to convey the dedication and love we all feel for the dogs, he exclaimed “the dogs are our lives!” And now we quote him all the time! James has the sweetest yellow lab named Sprout who loves coming to work with Dad. In fact, if he could speak, he would tell James “I’ll be your best friend if you take me to Camp with you more!” Everyone is so happy that James and Sprout came home!

In a short period of time, Kayla made a big impact on the Camp Bow Wow Boulder team! With an additional three years of Animal Care experience under her belt prior to working at Camp, we wasted no time in putting Kayla’s skills and knowledge to good use. Considering her career goal is to “work with animals as much as possible”, it’s safe to say she is on the right path. :-)
Even with so much to do at Camp, Kayla always finds time to spend with her four legged friends. You will often find her pug, River, loyally shadowing her every move. When not at Camp, Kayla and River enjoy hiking, swimming, yoga, and photography. Let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to spend their day taking pictures of River’s adorable face! Woof!

Hilary has been with Camp for 11 years now! She has two pets at home: a corgi named Sketcher who comes to Camp with her and a beta fish named Blue. If Sketcher could speak, he would say “why are we talking about you when we should be talking about me?!” He is a bit of a divo. You can find Hilary running local races on the weekends; she’s got mad speed! She began a two-year rigorous nursing program and will be a nurse in just a year’s time.
Hilary loves getting to play with all of the pups and knowing their individual personalities. Cattle dogs are her favorite! She loves working at Camp because Hilary loves how dogs can just be dogs while playing in the yards. One of her favorite memories from Camp was one evening as big Moose the lab was running down the aisle to meet his mom, he swiped Hilary’s legs out right from under her! Hilary’s favorite dogs at Camp are Hudson B., Mochi S., Sophie T., and Charlie I.

Lacey quickly became a favorite with both our two and four-legged clients at Camp! She came to us looking for work that would allow her to love and care for dogs. She certainly found the right place! Lacey says she loves Camp Bow Wow Boulder because of the fun-loving atmosphere and genuinely her caring coworkers. Her favorite things to do at Camp bathing dogs and putting together vaccine reminders and boarding cards to help our two-legged customers.
Lacey has two dogs of her own at home. Bunny is a Pitbull mix and Blu is a Pitbull. If they could speak to her, Blu would lie and say “I don’t play enough tug-of-war!” But Bunny would want her to know that “I give the best cuddles!” Lacey remembers this one time when Brooke was in the yard with her mom’s dog, Bonnie, and Bonnie got so excited to see her sister that she ran straight to her and accidentally swept her feet out from under her! But all was well because she got to get all the kisses! Lacey is studying chemical and biological engineering and wants to do something involving prosthetics and/or pharmaceuticals.

Janis came to us all the way from a Camp in Rochester, New York where she worked for a year and a half before moving to Colorado. ;-) She has been part of the CBW Boulder pack since July and has quickly become an important and well-loved member of our team! Janis was initially attracted to Camp because of her love for all animals; dogs in particular. Janis feels that Camp Bow Wow and its mission is so great, she just knew she had to be a part of it. Getting to know each of the dogs and their personalities makes all the hard work worthwhile. Plus, watching puppies grow up with us is so amazing! While she loves helping our two-legged customers at the front desk, her favorite thing to do at Camp is baths. Giving a dog the “sPAW Treatment” and spending one on one time with our Campers is the best part of every day.
When not pampering pups at Camp, Janis loves hula hooping! We can only imagine her sweet, high energy dog, Penny, loves chasing the hula hoop around and around. Penny loves playing at Camp and food! If she could speak to Janis, she would tell her “I love you, now please feed me!”

Jade has been with Camp Bow Wow Boulder for six months now. She initially ventured to work at CBW because she was looking for a work sanctuary that would allow her to feel full and a place with so many dogs sounded perfect. Jade loves Camp Bow Wow because the environment in warm and welcoming to all, plus the dogs make her feel so loved. Jade’s favorite things to do at Camp are giving dogs baths and letting the dogs back out to play after a break. They just get so excited! It’s almost too cute.
Jade is also an important member of our Marketing Team! If you’ve seen some of the cute dog pictures we’ve posted on Facebook and Instagram, it’s likely Jade took the photo. Her careers goals are to either go into marketing or social working. Jade recalls a funny moment when she was trying to let siblings Jake and Wyatt into the play yard, but they are so attached to each other, these pups refused to separate between Jade and ended up knocking her over! But, of course, they came back and apologized with wags and kisses.

Matt has worked at Camp Bow Wow Boulder for about 6 years now! Although it has been on and off over that time, all of the dogs remember his sweet temperament and gravitate to his cool energy. He started working at Camp because he wasn’t allowed to have dogs in previous apartments and so he needed some surrogate pets! He loves Camp Bow Wow Boulder because he gets to play with dogs all day, so what’s not to love?! Matt's favorite thing at Camp is being in the play yards with the dogs. His favorite memory of Camp was watching the blossoming friendship between our sweet tan Dakota who doesn’t love to make new friends (because she feels she’s got all the best friends she needs already) and Dakota the husky. It took some convincing but he won her and now they love being together in the play yards!
When Matt isn’t at Camp, you can find him playing with his own two dogs. Moose is an aussie/collie mix and Babadook is a boxer/american bulldog mix! They love each other almost as much as they love their Dad! If they could speak, Babadook would probably just say anything to get attention, but Moose probably wouldn’t say anything at all. He’s a shy and delicate little boy. Matt is an ambitious guy with goals to write screenplays, become a movie critic and/or write about movies!

Abigail has been with Camp Bow Wow Boulder for about a year now. When asked why she wanted to work here, she replied with “uhm dogs? Who wouldn’t want to work with some of the sweetest creatures on Earth?” LOL We agree with her on that J She loves CBW because of the warm fuzzy feeling that comes when she gets a dog to be comfortable with her after they’ve started off nervous and shy. She remembers watching Flora play because it was so odd and adorable! Abigail also loves those little moments when you get just one dog in a yard and can play with them at max energy level without others interfering. Yeah New Enrichment Services!
Abigail has the sweetest mini aussie of her own named Willow. If she could speak, Willow would say, “I love you. I love you. I love you. Treat? Do you have treats?” Love and food are her top priorities. Same sista! Abigail’s career goals are to work in the criminal justice system. With her drive, character, and big heart, we know Abigail will be successful at following her dreams!

Jeremy has been with Camp Bow Wow for about a year now and quickly became a favorite with our four-legged customers. He has a Labradoodle named Kobe. If Kobe could speak he would tell everyone that Jeremy is a great spooner and cuddler! Jeremy loves when our two-legged customers treat the Camp Counselors with yummy homemade baked goods!
When he’s not in the play yards hanging out with dogs, you can find Jeremy giving baths as a member of our Grooming Team. He livens up the team with friendly philosophical debates, such as, "if the dogs are colorblind, why do they like us in red?" Jeremy enjoys working at Camp because his coworkers make it easy to be professional but also have fun! His career goals are simply to become financially independent.

Since Nick has been with Camp Bow Wow Boulder he has provided a cool new vibe to the team! He initially wanted to work at Camp because he felt the previous jobs he worked were just too boring. He really wanted to work somewhere he could enjoy coming into every day. Now, Nick says he loves working at Camp because everyone is awesome and the dogs are literally the best! His enthusiasm helped him become a Senior Camp Counselor and member of our Leadership Team! His career goals are to go into academia and research in social media.
Nick has two dogs of his own named Meeka and Piper. If they could speak, they would complain “he is the weakest link when it comes to getting us treats!” That said, he clearly has a huge heart for dogs, which is why he fits in so well at Camp. One of Nick’s favorite memories from Camp is getting to watch shy Oreo as he actually gained the self-assurance to play with another dog! Normally, Oreo would want to stay near Nick, but their bond gave Oreo the confidence and encouragment he needed to play successfully. Nick’s favorite things to do at Camp are cleaning yards and helping with our company software.

Benny can often be seen in the back with the dogs. As a "Senior Ops Lead" he makes sure your dog gets all meds, food, treats, baths, and of course, hugs. He has three pets, a dog called Fenrir and two cats; Ms. Kitty and Bilbo Baggins. If Fenrir could speak he would say, “I love when we go to the park and throw the ball, but then I’ll chase a squirrel up the tree and its scary.” But Benny is a caring Dog Dad and always makes sure Fenrir is safe.
Benny loves working at Camp because he gets the chance to be with a great team and see his favorite pups everyday. He wanted to work at Camp Bow Wow to be able to care for dogs, which is something he’s always loved doing, making it a great fit. Benny loves how you can get all of the dogs to howl at once just by starting them off with a good howl of your own. Ahhoooo! His favorite thing at Camp is helping timid dogs warm up to the playful environment. Benny’s career goals are to become a Parks Ranger.

Brooke has been with Camp Bow Wow for a while now. She quickly became an important member of our family! She has a few favorite breeds such as Golden Retrievers, Pit Bulls, Labs, Cattle dogs, and Australian Shepherds. Brooke helps take care of her family dog; Chelsea who is a beautiful Golden Retriever, but has recently adopted a pit bull mix named Dory whom is all hers! Their bond has formed so quickly that if she could talk, Dory would exclaim “Mommy has many favorite dogs at Camp but she loves me the most!” When they’re not at Camp, Brooke and Dory enjoy hiking, yoga, and Pure Barre.
Brooke’s favorite thing about working at Camp Bow Wow is that we are our own little family and we all genuinely love and care about each dog that comes in through the door! She began working at Camp because Brooke has always had a love for dogs and being with so many in a single day sounded amazing, and it is!

As an opera singer, it would be easy to expect a bold, deep, “alpha dog” voice to come from Joe. In reality, he is simply one of the best at keeping the dogs calm and happy with his soothing tone. He is following his dreams to sing professionally, but has already made it to the “big stage” here with us at Camp. Dogs love his kind sole and friendship, we appreciate his loyalty and compassion for our four-legged friends! When asked what he loved about CBW Boulder, he simply said “hanging out with the dogs.

Brook is considered a CBW veteran. She has managed, operated, and directed Camps and Camp Bow Wow's home-based pet care service in Colorado for many years. In addition, she spent 4 years at the corporate office providing assistance to 125 CBWs across the country. Her long term experience in owning and managing small businesses, along with her love for dogs and pets, makes her the perfect fit for the team. She is also a graduate of the C.U. Business School. Brook has always had Shar-Pei dogs and admired XL breeds (specifically Great Danes, Saint Bernards and Bernese Mountain Dogs) but her 2 year old daughter asked Santa for a Dachshund, thus Stan joined the family. They have also adopted a hedgehog named Dick Valentine!

Carly has been with Camp Bow Wow Boulder for about 2 years now and is a loved member of the team! She always enjoyed walking and dog-sitting while in college back home in California so she decided to work for a dog daycare when she moved to Colorado (she picked the best one <3). Carly enjoys setting up dogs’ meals...what better way to a dog’s heart than food! She loves working at Camp because she gets to hang out with all of her doggy friends! It's fun to get to know all of their individual personalities. For instance, if you know Juna M. then you know that he loves to nap in the play yards. One time he started to fall asleep while standing up. He began to fall over mid-stance but woke up halfway through the fall! He was very confused but seemed to be laughing at himself!
Carly has a dog named Riley who lives back home in California. If Riley could speak she would say that Carly “gives me lots of treats and butt scratches! My favorite treats are carrots!” Based on how much the dogs at Camp love Carly, we’re sure Riley is totally obsessed! Her career goals are to work at CO-LABS in Boulder to help spread scientific research to the community.
