Even with so much to do at Camp, Kayla always finds time to spend with her four legged friends. You will often find her pug, River, loyally shadowing her every move. When not at Camp, Kayla and River enjoy hiking, swimming, yoga and photography. Let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to spend their day taking pictures of River’s adorable face! Woof!

James has been with Camp Bow Wow Boulder for over 3 years. He took a year off to head back East but just couldn’t stay gone long. He originally wanted to work with dogs just for the interim until he could figure out what else to do. What started out as just any ‘ole job, turned into the opportunity to work with an amazing staff and for the most stellar boss! Now his career goals are simply to become financially independent. James feels that Camp has become his home away from home. There is not a day that he isn’t excited to come into work!
Spending time and getting to know all of our clients – whether they have two or four legs—is James’ favorite thing to do at Camp. In fact, one of the most memorable stories about James comes from a chat with a sweet client a few years ago. While trying to convey the dedication and love we all feel for the dogs, he exclaimed “the dogs are our lives!” And now we quote him all the time! James has the sweetest yellow lab named Sprout who loves coming to work with Dad. In fact, if he could speak, he would tell James “I’ll be your best friend if you take me to Camp with you more!” Everyone is so happy that James and Sprout came home!

But all was well because she got to get all the kisses! Lacey is studying chemical and biological engineering and wants to do something involving prosthetics and/or pharmaceuticals.

Janis was initially attracted to Camp because of her love for all animals; dogs in particular. Janis feels that Camp Bow Wow and its mission is so great, she just knew she had to be a part of it. Getting to know each of the dogs and their personalities makes all the hard work worthwhile. Plus, watching puppies grow up with us is so amazing! When not pampering pups at Camp, Janis loves hula hooping! We can only imagine her sweet, high energy dog, Penny, loves chasing the hula hoop around and around. Penny loves playing at Camp and food! If she could speak to Janis, she would tell her “I love you, now please feed me!”
Matt Pack Leader Years With Camp Bow Wow: 5 See Full BioMatt Years With Camp Bow Wow: 5 Pack Leader
Matt has worked at Camp Bow Wow Boulder for about 4 years now! Although it has been on and off over that time, all of the dogs remember his sweet temperament and gravitate to his cool energy. He started working at Camp because he wasn’t allowed to have dogs in previous apartments and so he needed some surrogate pets! He loves Camp Bow Wow Boulder because he gets to play with dogs all day, so what’s not to love?! Matt's favorite thing at Camp is being in the play yards with the dogs. His favorite memory of Camp was watching the blossoming friendship between our sweet tan Dakota who doesn’t love to make new friends (because she feels she’s got all the best friends she needs already) and Dakota the husky. It took some convincing but he won her and now they love being together in the play yards!
When Matt isn’t at Camp, you can find him playing with his own two dogs. Moose is an aussie/collie mix and Babadook is a boxer/pointer mix! They love each other almost as much as they love their Dad! If they could speak, Babadook would probably just say anything to get attention, but Moose probably wouldn’t say anything at all. He’s a shy and delicate little boy. Matt is an ambitious guy with goals to write screenplays, become a movie critic and/or write about movies!

Carly has been with Camp Bow Wow Boulder for about a year now and is a loved member of the team! She always enjoyed walking and dog-sitting while in college back home in California so she decided to work for a dog daycare when she moved to Colorado (she picked the best one <3). Carly enjoys setting up dogs’ meals...what better way to a dog’s heart than food! She loves working at Camp because she gets to hang out with all of her doggy friends! It's fun to get to know all of their individual personalities. For instance, if you know Juna M. then you know that he loves to nap in the play yards. One time he started to fall asleep while standing up. He began to fall over mid-stance but woke up halfway through the fall! He was very confused but seemed to be laughing at himself!
Carly has a dog named Riley who lives back home in California. If Riley could speak she would say that Carly “gives me lots of treats and butt scratches! My favorite treats are carrots!” Based on how much the dogs at Camp love Carly, we’re sure Riley is totally obsessed! Her career goals are to work at CO-LABS in Boulder to help spread scientific research to the community.
“I was awesome they loved me !”
