Safety Standards & the Camper Screening Process

At Camp Bow Wow Tampa South Shore, safety isn’t a single policy. It’s built into every step of your dog’s experience, starting before they ever set paw in the play yard.

The Camper Interview

Every new dog completes a Camper Interview before joining our open-play environment. Our Counselors assess temperament, play style, and comfort level in a group setting to determine whether Camp is the right fit and that your dog is grouped with compatible play partners from day one.

Certified Camp Counselors®

Our Counselors are extensively trained in dog behavior, pet CPR, and pet first aid. They supervise play throughout the day and conduct Snout-to-Tail Assessments at check-in to spot potential health concerns early, before they become a problem for your dog or anyone else in the yard.

Vaccination Requirements

All dogs must be current on the following vaccines before attending dog day care at our Riverview facility:

Rabies
Distemper (DHPP)
Bordetella: injectable and intranasal forms are valid for one year; oral form is valid for six months

Puppies four months and up are welcome. All dogs must be spayed or neutered by seven months of age. These requirements help protect every camper from contagious illness and help keep group play calm and safe as dogs mature.

Facility Sanitation

Every play yard, surface, water bowl, and toy is cleaned and sanitized daily with pet-safe products. Throughout the day, Live Camper Cams¹, accessible via computer, tablet, mobile device, or the Camp App, let you see exactly what’s happening in real time.
