The CampLife Promise: Real Care near Metairie
Taking care of your dog is more than just our job—it’s what we love to do. We know how much your furry friend means to you, so everything we do is focused on keeping them safe, happy, and feeling completely at home, just like they’re part of our own family.
Starting Off Right: The Camper Interview
Before your dog jumps into the fun, we start with a Camper Interview. This first step helps us learn about their mood, how they like to play, and how comfortable they feel in a group. Our expert Certified Camp Counselors® then slowly introduce them to our open-play structure, easing them into the right play group at a pace that helps them feel confident and ready.
This full check-up helps us make sure your dog is a good fit for our fun, open-play setting, giving them a great CampLife experience from day one. After the interview, you’ll get a short report on how your dog settled in, along with any important notes from our helpful Camp Counselors.
Expert Watch and Smart Playtime
All day long, our well-trained Certified Camp Counselors® are right in the play yards, watching every moment closely to make sure your pup stays safe and is well cared for. We carefully split the dogs into groups based on their size, personality, and how much energy they have. This way, they can play and socialize in a way that feels natural, easy, and fun for everyone.
During play, we always give gentle direction, stepping in to stop behaviors like jumping up, barking too much, or playing too rough. This keeps the playtime positive, friendly, and safe for all the dogs. We also schedule important, calm rest breaks to let your pup fully recharge and stop them from getting too excited, which keeps their energy steady throughout the day.
As your dog grows and feels more sure of themselves with us, we always look at moving them to a different group if their play style changes. Whether they are having a burst of energy, need a quiet moment, or want extra cuddles, our Camp Counselors are there to make sure every dog feels loved, included, and supported.
Clean, Comfy, and Large Spaces
We work hard to keep a clean, secure place where your dog can run and play freely. Every area of our dog daycare center—including our sleeping cabins, large play yards, water bowls, and toys—is washed and sanitized daily using only products that are safe for pets. This is a key part of our strict cleaning rules.
Your dog will love exploring our big play yards, which are made just for their comfort and happiness. Whether they are running around in our large indoor rooms or enjoying the sun outside, every spot is kept at a comfortable temperature to make sure they feel cozy and happy.

Dog Daycare FAQs
Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Mid-City New Orleans is here to help!
-
Yes, Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs attending daycare to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s also recommended that dogs receive the Leptospirosis vaccine annually, as it can be deadly and spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects dogs from four serious and contagious illnesses: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs continue booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion usually given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all dogs attending daycare at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog daycare, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
-
Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs must be spayed or neutered at 7 months of age in order to receive daycare and boarding services.
- Camp Bow Wow understands that the choice to spay or neuter and at what age is a decision to be made for each individual dog and by the dog’s owner and veterinarian.
- For safety in a play group, dogs must be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age to take part in boarding or daycare services at Camp Bow Wow.
- As dogs reach sexual maturity, they are able to reproduce and hormonal changes occur that can alter behavior or may cause tension amongst other dogs within the group dynamic. This can impact the safety of all Campers and is not advised for open play environments.
-
Dogs staying overnight can be dropped off anytime that day during Camp hours. We suggest arriving before 4 p.m., so they can play, eat, and play again before bedtime. While you can check your pup in and out anytime during Camp hours at no additional cost, we do request you pick them up 15 minutes before closing, so we can tuck in our Overnight Campers.
-
This measure is to ensure the safety of all our Campers. Dogs can become possessive of toys, which can cause an altercation. If small pieces are torn off or broken off, a dog could choke or swallow and cause an obstruction.

You can view the free live webcams on the Camp Bow Wow website via your computer, tablet, or mobile device. We also invite you to download our iPhone or Android app to easily access the cameras from anywhere. The cameras are on during business hours when the pups are at play. Many locations offer luxury suites with 24/7 access to the suite’s webcam.
