Safety Standards at Camp Bow Wow Anchorage
Every dog in our care is supervised by Certified Camp Counselors® trained in dog behavior, pet CPR, and pet first aid. Before any pup joins the group, they complete a Camper Interview. Our structured intake screening assesses temperament and play style to help make sure every dog in the yard is a good fit for open-play. Dogs must be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age and current on Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP vaccinations. Each check-in also includes a snout-to-tail health assessment to catch concerns before they reach the play yard. Learn about our Bordetella policy.
Our vaccination and health screening requirements help protect dogs in a shared environment from communicable illness. Live Camper Cams℠ are available through the Camp Bow Wow app on iPhone and Android or on desktop, so you can check in on your pup whenever Camp is open. With 24/7 on-site staff supervision and continuous monitoring, you can feel confident your dog is in good hands.

What to Expect on Your Dog’s First Day
First visits come with questions, and that’s completely normal. When you arrive, our staff can walk you through check-in, answer anything on your mind, and fill you in on the daily routine. We introduce your dog to our play yards and fellow Campers gradually, giving them plenty of time to settle into the new sights and sounds at their own pace.
We’ll also conduct a Camper Interview during that first visit. It helps us understand your dog’s personality and play style so we can create a safer, more enjoyable experience for everyone in the group. Dogs who are shy or nervous on day one get extra support from our staff. That’s common, and our team is ready for it.
A few things you can do to help your dog’s first day go smoothly:
