Frequently Asked Questions

What Should I Bring for My Dog's Stay?

We recommend bringing your dog's favorite food, as consistency in diet helps maintain their comfort. Also, include any special toys or blankets that will make your pet feel more at home. While we provide cozy bedding, familiar items from home can be comforting. We supply various bowls and toys, minimizing the necessities you need to pack. For special dietary or medical needs, please inform our team ahead of time for a seamless transition.

In addition, if your dog is undergoing any behavioral training, it would be beneficial to share tip sheets or preferred practices with our Camp Counselors. This allows us to maintain continuity in your dog's learning and ensure they continue to progress, even while you are apart.

How Do You Ensure Dog Safety?

Safety starts with our Camper screening process, which involves a temperament evaluation to ensure a good fit in our open-play environment. Our trained Camp Counselors continuously monitor interactions to prevent conflicts. Emergency protocols are in place, and our staff is trained in pet first aid. We've structured our facility to include multiple indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing dogs to enjoy secure and supervised play. For added peace of mind, our 24/7 web cameras let you remotely watch your pet during their stay.

Each dog's health and behavior are monitored daily, and any changes or concerns are promptly communicated to parents. This proactive communication ensures that you remain fully informed about your pet’s well-being, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and trust.

Greene County FAQs

Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Springfield West is here to help!

  • Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.

The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.

Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.

In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.

  • Yes, we offer extended dog boarding! We understand that sometimes life takes you away for a bit longer, and we're here to make sure your pup is happy and comfortable the whole time.

  • Yes, we offer dog boarding for all breeds! The safety and well-being of our canine guests are our top priorities. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we require all dogs to pass a Camper Interview. This process helps us determine if our play-based environment is a good fit for your pup.

While we don't discriminate based on breed, please note that some insurance policies and city ordinances may have restrictions. For specific questions about our policies, please contact your local Camp Bow Wow today.

  • To maintain our incredibly high standards and satisfaction ratings, your pup must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines.

  • If you'd like to drop off your pup for overnight dog boarding stays, we suggest you bring them in before 4 pm to ensure they have plenty of time to play, eat and enjoy themselves before bedtime.

To ensure we can give your dog plenty of attention when you come to pick them up, we kindly ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes before closing time.
