The CampLife Difference
The well-being of your dog is at the heart of everything we do. We understand that your dog is a beloved member of your family, which is why we’ve created an environment that feels just like a second home.
Because many families in the Prosper and McKinney area have busy schedules, we design each day at Camp to give your pup a healthy mix of play, rest, and attention while you handle work, errands, or your commute along routes like the Dallas North Tollway or US-380. Our approach to dog day care focuses on creating consistent routines, friendly faces, and familiar playmates so your dog looks forward to every visit instead of feeling stressed when you leave.
Here are a few ways our Camp stands out for local families:
- Thoughtfully planned days: We build each day around a balance of playtime, rest, and affection so your pup can enjoy Camp without becoming overwhelmed.
- Convenient location for busy schedules: Our proximity to Prosper, Frisco, and McKinney makes it easy to drop your dog off on the way to work or errands and pick them up on your way home.
- Comfortable, home-like feel: From our cozy cabins to our friendly team, we work hard to make Camp feel like a familiar second home for your dog.
The Perks of Doggie Daycare
Here’s what makes our dog daycare so beneficial for both your pup and you:
- Promotes Physical Fitness: Dogs need plenty of exercise to stay healthy and happy. Our spacious play areas and continuous activities ensure your dog gets the workout they need to burn off energy. They'll come home joyful and ready to unwind.
- Fights Boredom and Destructive Habits: A bored dog can develop separation anxiety or destructive behaviors. Our stimulating, play-filled environment keeps your dog's mind and body busy, preventing them from chewing on your favorite shoes.
- Improves Social Skills: Socialization is a key component of a well-adjusted dog. Our supervised, open-play setting helps pups build confidence, practice healthy social skills with other dogs, and bond with our caring staff.
- Encourages Mental Stimulation: New sights, sounds, and interactions keep your dog's mind sharp and engaged. We also offer enrichment programs for pups who love to learn and play.
- Cultivates a Sense of Community: Your dog becomes a valued member of our fun, loving pack. And if you ever need to board them overnight, they'll be welcomed back to a familiar place with familiar faces, helping them feel right at home.
A Personal Introduction to CampLife Fun
To ensure your dog has the best possible experience, every new camper begins with a Camper Interview. This initial meeting helps us understand your dog's unique personality, temperament, and preferred play style. We use this information to gently introduce them to a play group that matches their energy level and helps them feel comfortable and confident.
After the interview, we provide a report with observations from our Camp Counselors on how your pup adjusted, along with any other important notes. This process helps us ensure a positive and successful CampLife experience from the very first day.
We also take this time to answer your questions about daily routines, feeding, medications, or special requests, so you know exactly what to expect when your dog attends Camp. By walking you through how drop-off works, when play groups rotate, and how we communicate with you during the day, we make it easy to decide whether our dog day care is the right fit for your family.
All-Day Fun, Thoughtfully Supervised
Our Certified Camp Counselors® are always on hand to supervise every moment of play, ensuring a safe and secure environment. We thoughtfully group dogs by size, temperament, and energy level to foster positive and natural social interactions.
During playtime, our team offers gentle guidance, redirecting behaviors such as excessive barking or rough play to maintain a safe and friendly atmosphere for everyone. We also schedule regular rest breaks to prevent overstimulation and give your dog a chance to relax and recharge. As your dog grows and their play style changes, we are always mindful of adjusting their groups to match their needs. Our team ensures that every dog feels supported, included, and loved, whether they're enjoying a zoomie session, a quiet moment, or some extra one-on-one attention.
For many dogs, this kind of balanced schedule helps them build confidence around new dogs and people while still having a predictable routine. You can feel good knowing that your pup is enjoying a full day of activity in a structured setting rather than spending long hours alone at home.
A Clean and Comfortable Environment
We are dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe facility where your dog can play without worry. Every inch of our dog daycare—from the play yards and water bowls to the cabins and toys—is cleaned and sanitized daily with pet-safe products as part of our strict health and safety protocols.
Your pup will love exploring our spacious indoor and outdoor play yards, designed with their comfort in mind. Our entire facility is climate-controlled, so your dog can stay cozy and content no matter the weather outside.
We continually assess our play spaces and equipment to make sure everything is in good condition, from secure fencing to non-slip surfaces that help protect active paws. By keeping a close eye on the environment as well as the dogs, we create a place where you can trust that cleanliness and safety are built into every part of your dog's day.

Dog Day Care FAQs
Have questions? Camp Bow Wow McKinney is here to help!
-
Yes, Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs attending daycare to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s also recommended that dogs receive the Leptospirosis vaccine annually, as it can be deadly and spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects dogs from four serious and contagious illnesses: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs continue booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion usually given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all dogs attending daycare at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog daycare, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
-
Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs must be spayed or neutered at 7 months of age in order to receive daycare and boarding services.
- Camp Bow Wow understands that the choice to spay or neuter and at what age is a decision to be made for each individual dog and by the dog’s owner and veterinarian.
- For safety in a play group, dogs must be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age to take part in boarding or daycare services at Camp Bow Wow.
- As dogs reach sexual maturity, they are able to reproduce and hormonal changes occur that can alter behavior or may cause tension amongst other dogs within the group dynamic. This can impact the safety of all Campers and is not advised for open play environments.
-
Dogs staying overnight can be dropped off anytime that day during Camp hours. We suggest arriving before 4 p.m., so they can play, eat, and play again before bedtime. While you can check your pup in and out anytime during Camp hours at no additional cost, we do request you pick them up 15 minutes before closing, so we can tuck in our Overnight Campers.
-
This measure is to ensure the safety of all our Campers. Dogs can become possessive of toys, which can cause an altercation. If small pieces are torn off or broken off, a dog could choke or swallow and cause an obstruction.
-
You can view the free live webcams on the Camp Bow Wow website via your computer, tablet, or mobile device. We also invite you to download our iPhone or Android app to easily access the cameras from anywhere. The cameras are on during business hours when the pups are at play. Many locations offer luxury suites with 24/7 access to the suite’s webcam.
