Most boarding facilities keep dogs in runs for the bulk of their stay. Our open-play model means Campers romp, run, and socialize under continuous supervision from Certified Camp Counselors rather than waiting out the day in a crate. It’s a meaningful difference in how your dog experiences the stay.
Transparency matters just as much as activity level. Here’s what’s included in every boarding stay at no extra charge:
- Day camp and all-day play in both indoor and outdoor yards
- Individual cabin with a raised cot, fleece bedding, and a nightly Campfire Treat
- Medication administration with detailed dosage and timing logs
- Live Camper Cams so you can check in on your dog from your phone or computer any time
Our Camp Counselors are certified in dog behavior, CPR, and canine first aid. Luxury Suites include a private Camper Cam built directly into the accommodation, giving you a dedicated view of your dog’s space throughout the stay.
Keeping Every Camper Safe
Before any dog joins our boarding program, they complete a free Camper Interview. This screening confirms temperament compatibility, spayed or neutered status, and up-to-date vaccinations. Required vaccines include DHPP, rabies, and Bordetella. Documentation must be on file before the first stay.
Once your dog is in Camp, our Camp Counselors maintain a low dog-to-staff ratio and follow regular facility sanitation routines. For dogs with health needs, medication schedules and feeding instructions are logged in detail at no additional charge. Before arrival, please complete the Boarding Pre-Check-In Form, bring it to check-in, and update it for every boarding visit, including your estimated pick-up time for checkout day.

The Camper Interview: How We Get to Know Your Dog
Every dog boarding with us for the first time completes a free Camper Interview before their stay. We use it to confirm temperament, spayed or neutered status, and that vaccinations are current. It’s part of how we screen dogs for our open-play environment. Required vaccinations for all boarding dogs are DHPP, rabies, and Bordetella. Documentation must be provided before the first stay.
If you’d like to see the facility before booking, we welcome tours. Call (877) 700-2275 to arrange one and meet our Camp Counselors in person. Grooming and training services are also available as add-ons during a boarding stay, making Camp Bow Wow a convenient destination for your dog’s care while you’re away.
Camp Bow Wow vs. Other Dog Boarding Options in Liberty
Liberty pet parents comparing their options typically look at vet-kennel boarding and home-sitter platforms alongside a dedicated boarding facility. Here’s how the approaches differ on the factors that matter most.
- Activity level: Campers enjoy all-day open-play in indoor and outdoor yards. Vet-based boarding in the Liberty area typically offers leash walks only, with no group play environment.
- Pricing transparency: Our all-inclusive rate covers day camp, medication administration, and webcam access. Some competing facilities in the area charge additional fees for medications and special diets.
- Staff credentials: Camp Counselors hold certification in dog behavior, CPR, and canine first aid. Home-sitter platforms don’t require equivalent formal training or credentialing.
- Owner visibility: Live Camper Cams give you continuous, real-time access to a staffed facility. Home sitters may share photo updates, but that isn’t the same as watching your dog play from your phone.
- Health screening: Every Camper completes a Camper Interview and must have current vaccinations on file before entry. Home-sitter platforms rely on individual sitter judgment and background checks rather than structured health and temperament screening.
If your dog is high-energy, social, or simply does best with structured activity and trained supervision, a facility-based dog boarding experience can be a strong fit.

Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
