Why Local Families Choose Our Dog Hotel Near Shorewood
Choosing a boarding facility is a big decision. You are trusting someone else with a family member, and you want more than concrete floors and a quick walk. At our dog hotel, the focus is on comfort and consistency so your dog has a predictable, low-stress stay.
Dogs stay in clean, well-maintained spaces with room to stretch out and settle in. We pay attention to noise levels, lighting, and routines, since these details can help dogs feel more secure in an unfamiliar place. Our team gets to know each dog’s personality, favorite activities, and any quirks so we can support them throughout their visit.
For people living in Shorewood, convenience also matters. Our location and schedule make it easier to drop off before a trip or on your way to work and pick up when you return. We welcome questions, and we encourage owners to share details about their dog so we can care for them more thoughtfully.
Dog owners often choose Camp Bow Wow Joliet because:
- Dogs enjoy a hotel-style setting that feels warm.
- Staff pay attention to each dog’s comfort, behavior, and routine.
- Playtime and rest are balanced, so dogs do not get overwhelmed.
- Cleanliness and health requirements are taken seriously for group settings.
- Booking and drop off are designed to fit busy local schedules.
By the time you leave, we want you to feel that your dog is in capable, caring hands, not just in a room for the night.
How Overnight Dog Boarding Works
Knowing the process from start to finish can make your first reservation much easier. When you contact our dog boarding company near Shorewood, residents can expect clear guidance on what information we need and how to prepare for a smooth check-in.
During booking, our team asks about your dog’s age, size, daily routine, feeding schedule, and any health considerations. We also ask about play style and comfort level around other dogs so we can make good decisions about group time. We review vaccination requirements and let you know what records to bring.
On arrival, we greet you and your dog, confirm details, and show you where your dog will stay. Bringing a familiar item, such as a blanket or toy, can help your dog feel more at home. Our staff then helps your dog settle into their space and introduces them to the routine at a pace that makes sense for their personality.
During overnight dog boarding, dogs are housed in secure, individual spaces that give them room to rest comfortably. We follow feeding schedules as closely as possible to what they have at home and make sure they have fresh water. Staff checks on dogs during the evening and night, and we watch for signs that a dog might need extra reassurance.
At pick up, we share how your dog did, including how they ate, rested, and interacted during their stay. If this is your first boarding experience with us, we can talk through how things went and any adjustments that might help with future visits.
Your Dog’s Daily Routine & Care
A clear routine helps most dogs relax. Our team follows a consistent daily schedule, so your dog knows what to expect from morning to night. This schedule gives time for bathroom breaks, play, meals, and quiet rest so your dog does not become overstimulated.
Playtime is planned with safety and personality in mind. When appropriate, dogs with similar energy levels and social styles enjoy supervised group activities. Some dogs prefer gentler interaction or more individual attention, and we adjust as needed. Our approach is to give dogs enough activity to stay engaged, without pushing them into situations that make them nervous.
Meals are served according to the instructions you provide. If your dog has a special diet, allergies, or a sensitive stomach, we follow your directions carefully. We encourage owners to bring their dog’s usual food to help keep routines consistent. Throughout the day, fresh water is available and checked regularly.
Rest periods are a key part of our care. Dogs have time set aside for quiet in their own spaces, which can be especially important in a boarding setting. At night, dogs sleep in clean, secure areas suited to their size. Our staff pays attention to body language, appetite, and behavior, and if something seems off, we work to find a calmer setup for that dog.
Puppies, seniors, and more sensitive dogs may need additional breaks or shorter play sessions. While we do not replace the care of a veterinarian, we take extra care with these guests and stay alert to signs that they need a slower pace or more frequent check-ins.
Safe & Comfortable Doggie Boarding Near Shorewood
Safety and cleanliness are top concerns for anyone looking at doggie boarding near Shorewood. At Camp Bow Wow Joliet, we have clear expectations around health, facility upkeep, and secure spaces so that group activities stay as safe as reasonably possible.
All boarding dogs must meet our vaccination requirements, which are in line with what veterinarians typically recommend for social pet settings. This helps reduce the risk of contagious illnesses in shared play and rest areas. We review records during booking and can explain which vaccines are required and which are recommended.
Our team follows regular cleaning routines for sleeping areas, bowls, and common spaces. Surfaces are cleaned and refreshed, and we pay attention to odors and overall environment so the facility stays pleasant for both dogs and humans. Bedding is checked and changed when needed, so your dog has a clean place to rest.
Security is also important. Doors and gates are kept closed and monitored, and outdoor spaces are enclosed by appropriate fencing. We control how dogs move between areas, and we pay attention when introducing dogs into shared spaces. Our goal is to provide room for dogs to stretch and explore while still being safely contained.
As a dog boarding service near Shorewood that pet owners rely on, we understand that each dog reacts differently in a new place. We watch closely during the first part of a stay, and if a dog seems nervous or unsure, we adjust their routine to include more quiet time or gentler interaction so they can build confidence.

To reserve overnight dog boarding near Shorewood, families can call, email, or stop in to talk through dates and details. Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Joliet is here to help!
-
Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
