Why Families Choose Our Dog Hotel
Pet parents look for more than a basic kennel. They want a dog hotel that feels warm, welcoming, and safe for their four-legged family member. At our Camp near Marysville, we focus on your dog’s emotional and physical well-being, not just where they sleep at night.
During the day, campers enjoy open play in spacious indoor and outdoor yards with dogs of similar size and temperament. Our Camp Counselors are in the yards, watching body language, encouraging healthy play, and giving breaks when needed. This social time helps dogs burn energy, build confidence, and come home relaxed.
Before joining group play, each new camper goes through a Camper screening. We learn about your dog’s personality, energy level, and preferences. This process helps us place your pup in the right play group and supports a safer, more enjoyable experience for everyone.
When it is time to rest, campers head to their own cozy cabins. Each cabin provides a comfortable, clean space for a good night’s sleep after a full day of fun. Many dogs settle quickly into this routine because they feel tired, content, and ready to curl up in a familiar spot.
We also keep pricing simple. Our goal is to provide transparent, all-inclusive boarding without surprise fees. You know what is included in your dog’s stay, such as all-day play and plenty of attention, so you can plan your budget with confidence.
How Overnight Dog Boarding Works
Understanding how an overnight stay works can make leaving your dog feel much easier. We follow a consistent routine, so campers know what to expect, and pet parents feel comfortable. Our team is always happy to answer questions about your dog’s specific needs and routines.
Before your dog stays overnight, we complete a Camper interview and confirm required vaccinations. This visit helps us see how your pup does in our play yards and lets them explore the space with you nearby. It also gives you a chance to meet our team, see the cabins, and ask about any special instructions.
On check-in day, we greet you and your pup, review feeding details and any medications, and make sure we have your contact information. Your dog is then welcomed into their play group or settled in their cabin if it is outside play hours. We aim to keep the transition smooth, so campers quickly feel at home.
During the day, most boarding dogs join our regular play sessions. They romp with friends, enjoy indoor and outdoor time, and take rests as needed. Meals follow the schedule you provide whenever possible, and we pay attention to appetite and behavior so we can share helpful updates.
In the evening, campers wind down with one last potty break and some quiet time. Then they head to their cabins, where they have their own space to stretch out and rest. Our team checks on them, listens for any signs of distress, and supports a calm overnight environment.
In the morning, boarding pups start the day with bathroom breaks and breakfast, then rejoin play or relax, depending on your pick up time. We strive to send your dog home tired, happy, and ready to nap by your side.
To help your dog feel at home, you can bring:
- A familiar food from home, labeled with clear instructions
- Any medications with written dosing directions
- A small comfort item, such as a blanket or toy, if desired
- Emergency contact details and your vet’s information
Safety, Screening & Camper Comfort
Safety is at the heart of how we run our dog boarding service. We want playtime to be fun and secure, so we put thoughtful steps in place to support every camper. Our team takes supervision, facility care, and dog groupings seriously.
Every new camper completes a screening before joining group play. During this process, we learn about your dog’s history, comfort level around other dogs, and any special needs. We then introduce them carefully and decide which play group is the best fit based on size, temperament, and energy level.
Once campers are in the yards, our Camp Counselors stay with them. They watch interactions, guide play, and separate dogs for breaks when they seem tired or overstimulated. This active supervision helps support a positive experience for dogs of different personalities.
Cleanliness and health are also priorities. We follow routine cleaning practices to keep cabins and play areas fresh. We require up-to-date vaccinations, and if we notice any signs that a dog is not feeling their best, we contact you and follow your instructions. Our goal is to maintain a healthy environment for all campers.
Some dogs feel nervous at first, especially if they are new to boarding or older and set in their ways. We pay attention to body language and try to give shy pups extra encouragement, space, and rest when they need it. If a dog prefers more quiet time, we can adjust their day so they feel comfortable instead of overwhelmed.
For pet parents, we know it helps to see your dog while you are away. Our daytime webcams let you peek into the play yards and watch your pup have fun. Many families find that a quick look at their happy camper turns worries into smiles.
Is Doggie Boarding Right for Your Pup
Every dog is unique, so it is natural to wonder if doggie boarding will be a good fit. Some pups love constant activity and thrive in our open play environment. Others are more laid back or sensitive and need extra rest built into their stay.
Active, social dogs often enjoy boarding because they get to meet new friends and play throughout the day. These campers benefit from extra exercise and mental stimulation, which can reduce boredom and unwanted behavior at home. Younger dogs, in particular, may come home pleasantly tired after a few days at Camp.
More reserved or older pups can still do well with boarding when we tailor their experience thoughtfully. We watch carefully for signs that a dog needs quiet time, and we can adjust their balance of play and rest. Our cabins offer a peaceful spot to recharge, so your dog does not feel pushed beyond their comfort level.
Dogs with separation worries sometimes settle better when they follow a predictable routine and receive attention from caring humans. Our team talks to dogs, offers gentle affection when appropriate, and keeps their day structured. If you have specific concerns about your dog’s behavior or medical needs, we encourage you to reach out so we can discuss possible options.
Doggie boarding may be a helpful choice if you travel regularly, have long workdays, or simply want your pup to enjoy extra play while you are busy. We are here to help you decide what works best for your family and your dog.

Marysville FAQs
Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Hilliard is here to help!
-
Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
