What Your Dog’s Day at Camp Looks Like
From the moment your dog arrives, their day is built around activity and comfort. Campers spend their time romping in our spacious play yards with dogs matched to their size and temperament. As the evening winds down, each dog moves into their own individual Cabin, settling onto a cozy cot with a fleece blanket. Every Camper receives a Campfire Treat™ before lights out. That predictable rhythm of play, rest, and care can help dogs feel secure, whether it’s their first overnight stay or their fiftieth.
Dogs accustomed to an active home environment do especially well here because the pace of the day keeps up with them. Rather than waiting in a kennel run between brief walks, your dog stays engaged from morning through afternoon in the movement and socialization that can leave them happy and tired by bedtime. Our Certified Camp Counselors® are on hand throughout with pet first aid and CPR training, so you have one less thing to think about while you’re away.
Every dog boarding stay at Camp Bow Wow Covington includes:
- All-Day Play
- Live Webcams
- Spacious Play Yards
- Medicine Administration
- Pet First Aid & CPR Certified Counselors

Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
