Every dog is different, and we want Camp to be a great fit before the first day begins. That’s why new Campers at Camp Bow Wow Columbia MD are required to complete an initial Camper Interview before joining daycare or boarding. The good news: that first evaluation is complimentary and includes a full day of day camp, so your dog gets to experience Camp while we get to know them.
During the evaluation, we assess how your pup interacts in a supervised group-play setting. Temperament, energy level, and comfort around unfamiliar dogs and people all factor into how we support your dog’s comfort at Camp. Pet parents can generally help by thinking through their dog’s social history, feeding schedule, and any personality quirks before the visit. We adjust care to fit individual personalities and dietary needs, so the more we know going in, the better the experience for your pup.

I need to board my dog while I go away. I didn’t want a place where he would be in a cage all day. I found Camp Bow Wow online. They actually had me bring my dog in for an interview. I thought that weird at first, but so glad it was done. They had screens for me to watch while he was first interviewed with other dogs. I left him there for 4 hrs and was able to watch him on my phone through their live feed video. I feel so much more at peace that he will be in good hands while I’m away. I will do another post after the week of boarding.

Convenient and accommodating workers
I love the convenience and accommodating attitude of the workers at Camp Bow Wow. It’s a go-to for me for last-minute doggie daycare. This would most likely be a 5-star review but for the issues below:
1. Observation cameras are essentially inoperative and crash and stall, making checking in on your dog impossible.
2. Every single “extra” is monetized. Throw the ball for your dog, sure, that’ll be $10; pet your dog, no problem, $10. It seems like for $50 a day some of this should be included?
3. No communication about what my pet did or didn’t eat during the day. It would be nice just to know that key info so I don’t over- or under-feed my dog when I pick him up at the end of the day.
If they could fix these issues, this place would be a home run.

I Would Highly Recommend Camp Bow Wow
I love Camp Bow Wow. We are used to Pet Paradise in Florida, but we are here for work temporarily and needed a spot for our dogs to get socialization. We went to another place first that was close to my work, and we were not impressed. They did take good care of our dogs, but no outdoor play and it seemed dirty. I won't share the name of that place. We then went to Camp Bow Wow, and they have it set up so the dogs can go from inside to outside as they choose to. They also took their time during evaluation when the other place seemed like it was only 2 minutes. As well as we got to watch the evaluation by camera, with the other place we were not allowed to watch. Staff also talked to us about any concerns and how they did. They also came out and told us how they did the rest of the day while staying there. Where the other place staff would sometimes bring them out and say they loved them but never said anything about how they did. I would highly recommend Camp Bow Wow in Columbia, MD to anyone with pets. Very professional staff and the dogs loved it there. They came home very tired from playing.
