Every new Camper completes an initial interview and health check before joining group play. This first step lets our team get to know your dog’s temperament, review health considerations, and confirm that the open-play environment is a comfortable fit. It’s a low-pressure way to make sure Camp is right for your pup before any commitment is made.
New Campers in Timonium receive a free first day so they can experience the care setting firsthand. If you’re comparing dog daycare options, it’s also worth confirming screening, vaccination, feeding, and medication requirements before booking. Ceilidh loves Camp Bow Wow
Ceilidh, our 11-year-old wire-haired terrier, loves Camp Bow Wow. She gets excited as soon as I turn down the street. We weren't sure about daycare at her age, but it worked out great. I have been taking my dog to daycare for a few months, and we recently boarded him for the first time, for almost a week. When we arrived for his meet and greet, he was very nervous and the staff took time to help him settle in, introducing him slowly, etc. I appreciated the effort and care that went into his first day, and every day since. He has a great time at daycare and comes home exhausted. They took great care of him while I was away, and he got a bath before I picked him up, so he came home smelling great. I received photos of his enrichment activities while I was away. The cameras gave me peace of mind that he was doing well while I was gone. The theme days are fun and I enjoy the photos from those enrichment sessions. Thank you to a great team for the excellent care you take of my boy!

We had a great experience at Camp Bow Wow! Both of our dogs absolutely loved daycare. One of our favorite features was being able to watch them on the live cameras throughout the day, which gave us real peace of mind knowing they were safe and having fun.
We were also able to tour the facility beforehand, and the staff was welcoming and transparent about their operations. After a full day of play, our dogs came home happy and completely exhausted—in the best way!
Based on our experience, we would happily bring them back for both daycare and boarding. Highly recommend Camp Bow Wow to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy place for their dogs.

Our dog loves going but when I get her home, the smell of urine is bad. I always have to bathe her. I'm sure this is just not Camp Bow Wow, it's every place like this. Maybe put wipes out in the front so we can wipe the dogs off before entering the car. Just a suggestion. People are great.

Arlo howls with excitement when he walks in the doors to Camp Bow Wow! The staff is incredible, friendly, and dog-passionate. Dogs are allowed to be dogs and run freely all day long, never being put in the crate unless requested by the owner. He is so happy when I pick him up and exhausted… but it’s always a treat for him to spend the day at Camp Bow Wow. It works well for me when I have long business days because their hours are 7 AM to 7 PM, allowing me to do what I need to do and still have time to pick him up without the stress of him being alone in the home.

When I first brought Mila to Camp Bow Wow, it was after a traumatic experience. She had been attacked twice by a neighbor’s off-leash dog. Both attacks caused physical injuries that required emergency care, and the second was especially severe—she needed two surgeries. Even more heartbreaking, the second attack happened in our own yard, which had always been her safe place. After that, she no longer felt safe anywhere.
Mila became extremely fearful, even around dogs she used to be friends with. She was constantly on edge—reactive, defensive, barking much more than usual, and lunging at anything or anyone. Even her eyes seemed different. I knew I couldn’t help her through this on my own.
That’s when we turned to Camp Bow Wow. After speaking with their trainer, Tommy Bates, we decided to enroll Mila in their two-week Board and Train program. It was a very difficult decision for me because I felt like she needed me close. But I also knew I wasn’t making progress on my own. Mila’s veterinarian had recommended seeking professional help, and Camp Bow Wow was on that list.
There truly aren’t words to express how grateful I am for Camp Bow Wow, their Board and Train program, and their incredible staff—people who genuinely take the time to know and care for your dog. And especially Tommy Bates, who worked what felt like magic with Mila. One of the things that meant so much to me was being able to watch Mila on the cameras during her stay. In the beginning, when she was placed in the yard with other dogs, she would sit with her back against the wall, watching, too afraid to engage. It broke my heart because Mila has always loved to play. Day after day, I watched her sit there… until one day, she took food from Tommy’s hand. I could see him sitting patiently beside her, waiting for her to trust him. And then—something beautiful happened. Mila began to trust. Then she began to play. Soon, she was running around, approaching other dogs, playing freely—even inviting dogs she didn’t know to join her. I was moved to tears watching her come back to life.
We ended up extending her Board and Train for an additional week, and it was the best decision we could have made for her. Now, we’re continuing with a group class at Camp Bow Wow, and Mila enjoys it. She’s still a work in progress—and so am I—but we’re both learning so much. At home, she practices what she’s learned, and I couldn’t be prouder of how brave she’s becoming.
I cannot thank the staff, the trainers, the other dogs at camp 😊, and especially Tommy Bates enough for everything you’ve done—and continue to do—for Mila.

So happy Camp Bow Wow opened up in Timonium. When we got our dog, we started out using them for overnight boarding, but now we also take him for day care he loves it so much. We love the people. Our Certified Camp Counselors monitor dogs throughout the day, watching for play intensity, stress signals, and interactions between dogs in the group. Overnight Boarding: Play, Rest & a Cozy Cabin
Boarding at Camp Bow Wow is built around the same supervised play experience as daycare. Dogs spend the day active and social, then transition to their own individual Cabin for the night. Each Cabin includes a comfy cot, a cozy fleece blanket, and a nightly Campfire Treat™ for winding down in their own space after a full day at Camp.
Daytime daycare is included with every boarding stay, and medication administration is available when needed. Dogs that need quieter time or have specific overnight routines are cared for individually. Overnight care at Camp Bow Wow Towson is an extension of daytime play and supervision, not a separate experience.
