February 2019 Camper of the MonthLee
Throw ya paws up in the air for Lee! Lee is a sweet six-year-old German Shepherd! He has been a Camper since March of 2017. Lee spends a lot of time with us because his dad is a travel nurse and his mom is completing a residency as a pharmacist, but we aren’t complaining! We are thankful to see his face so often because he is such a sweet, loving soul! His pawrents say that Lee “always gets excited and talkative when asked if he wants to go to Camp.” Lee gets super excited when they pull into Camp’s parking lot. During the beginning of each day he is rambunctious and loves to play! Towards the end of the day he has a calm demeanor in the play yard and is always up for lots of attention. Lee loves ear scratches and back rubs. Lee was our first dog to ride in our new Shuttle and he loved every second of it! If you’re watching the Camper Cams, Lee is usually romping around in Homer and Sally’s Play Yards! Thank you, Lee, for always making us smile!
January 2019 Camper Of The MonthCora Belle
"We're kicking off 2019 the best way we know - celebrating Cora Belle as our January Camper of the Month! Cora Belle is an almost two-year-old Wire Fox Terrier mix, but we like to lovingly call her a giant Yorkie! Cora Belle visits us often for day care play time. Her Camp bff is Palmer. One of Cora Belle’s favorite parts of Camp is grooming! She sits so well for a nail trim and loves getting massaged in our bath tub. We know Cora Belle loves water because she frequents our pup pools in the summer and visited our CBW booth during the Dog Swim at Fassnight Pool last summer. We can’t wait for more fun with Cora Belle in the 2019 year!"
December 2018 Camper of the monthLemon
There's no need to check twice, Lemon definitely made the nice list this year! Lemon is an adorable one-year-old Cockapoo who loves visiting Camp! She has been a Camper since July of 2018. This lovable pup enjoys belly rubs and extra attention from the Camp Counselors, which is great because we enjoying giving her lots of affection. Lemon's energy is contagious - she loves to rile up Charlie's Play Yard. Her Camp BFFs are Lupine & Lollie, pictured above. One of her favorite things to do is play in the pup pools during the warm summer months! Congrats Lemon! We hope Santa makes a trip to give you extra presents this year because you certainly are a gift to us!
November 2018 Camper of the monthWalter
Let's give a round of a-paws for our November Camper Of The Month, Walter! Walter is a nine-year-old Greyhound and Manchester Terrier mix! He has been a Camper since June of 2011!
We are so thankful that Walter comes to see us at Camp so often! We know that his favorite color is red and he is a big sports fan! When he visits Camp he always walks in with his red harness on as well as a red St. Louis Cardinals collar or a red Kansas City Chiefs collar. Since Walter is a veteran Camper, he is pretty calm in the play yard. Occasionally, he will patrol the play yard to make sure all the other Campers are having fun and playing!
Next time you tune into the Camper Cams, be sure to watch Walter playing in "Charlie's Play Yard" as that is his favorite yard. Congratulations, Walter! We are your biggest fan!
October 2018 Camper of the MonthSpock, Missy, & Justice
Breed: Chihuahua Mix
We absolutely love when Spock, Missy, and Justice visit us at Camp! Spock, Missy, and Justice are all sweet and small Chihuahua mixes. Nearly every morning they excitedly walk through our doors with their cute little harnesses on ready for a day of play.
Despite being a little bit older, these three have a lot of energy! Spock and Justice love playing with each other in the yard. They even like to make their rounds and patrol the yard making sure all the other Campers are having fun. Missy loves being around the Camp Counselors, especially when we give her extra love, attention, and pets.
These three sweet pups are a joy to have in our smallest play yard. Next time you tune in to the cameras, try to spot them in “Sandy’s Play Yard” and watch them have fun!
September 2018 Camper of the MonthTheo & Rusty
Put your paws together for our September Campers of the Month, Theo and Rusty! Theo joined our Pack in October of 2014 and Rusty joined our Pack in January of 2018.
These two sweet Goldendoodles are an inseparable pair. When they arrive at Camp, Theo leisurely walks back to the play yards. Rusty is very patient with Theo and always waits for him – even though he would prefer to run! At Camp, they love playing with each other and their Labrador fur-iends, Ace and Baxter. Other than playing and staying at Camp, Theo and Rusty LOVE spending time with their mama! They get super excited when she comes to pick them up. If you see these fun and fluffy Goldendoodles out and about, be sure to congratulate them on being our September Campers of the Month!
August 2018 Camper of the MonthScotty Maness
Age: 6 Years
Breed: German Shepherd Mix
Scotty is a handsome six-year-old German Shepherd mix who has been playing at Camp since June of 2016!
We are lucky enough to have sweet Scotty grace us with his presence every morning. His perky ears show us how excited he is to play at Camp! He is very well mannered on a leash when we walk him back to the play yard to meet up with his fur-iends.
Scotty isn’t afraid to romp around all day with other Campers but knows when to take breaks on the cool floor, and even snooze in his comfortable cabin. We’ll be the first to tell you that his puppy dreams are the cutest!
July 2018 Camper of the MonthSadie Moles
Age: 3 Years
Breed: English Springer Spaniel
Sadie is a beautiful three-year old English Springer Spaniel who has been an active Camper since 2016!
If you aren’t familiar with Sadie, she is the furry family member that belongs to our racer buddy Cam! When her family is on the road to Cam’s races, Sadie chooses to spend her time with us at Camp.
Sadie wins all of our hearts over with her soft smiles and playful demeanor. We are excited for Sadie’s future with our CBW friends in Kansas City, as her family is moving to be closer to Cam’s home track!
It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later, Sadie!
June 2018 Camper of the MonthMurphy Davidson
Age: 5 Years
Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Murphy is a handsome five-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who has been coming to Camp since October of 2017!
Murphy comes trotting in Camp every morning and is all business – ready to play! He gets impatient with us humans because his Camp Counselors spend too much time socializing with his mom. He knows we are cutting into valuable play time!
After spending all day romping around with his friends, Murphy is exhausted by the time his mom picks him up. He happily wiggles his adorable Corgi butt straight to the car for a quick nap on the car ride home!
We love Murphy’s spunky personality!
May 2018 Camper of the MonthJackson Bodine
Jackson joined our Pack in September 2017. His temperament is a paw-fect combination of playful but laid back, and we can’t help but smile every time he is around!
Jackson walks himself in carrying his leash, loves the pup pools, and requests belly rubs regularly. He is full of personality and spunk!
Jackson is a very friendly fellow. In fact, he gets so tired from socializing that he takes daily naps in the play yards. He also gets baths frequently to keep his fur soft and his adorable cowlick in place!
We love the energy Jackson brings to Camp!
April 2018 Camper of the MonthRocko & Winnie
Age: 2 & 14 Years
Breed: Cockapoo & Siberian Husky
As far as housemates go, Winnie and Rocko are two of our all-time favorites! Rocko is a fourteen-year-old Siberian Husky, and Winnie is two-year-old Cockapoo.
Winnie and Rocko board regularly here at Camp, which is fine by us! We love being their home away from home. These adorable Campers are best friends. Even though they play in separate play yards, they always find each other through the fence to check in and say hi to each other throughout the day!
Rocko is very vocal and is always singing (howling) to his pals. Winnie is a little cuddle bug, but can also be found romping around with her friends. Winnie and Rocko are truly a dynamic duo!
We are obsessed with these paw-some siblings!
