What Your Dog’s Day Looks Like At Camp Bow Wow Near The Woodlands Area

Dog parents often tell us they want to picture exactly what their pup will be doing during the day. At our location near The Woodlands, each day follows a thoughtful rhythm that balances exercise, social time, and rest. We keep things fun and predictable so dogs feel secure and excited to come back.

Drop-off typically starts in the morning, when our team welcomes you and your dog and completes a quick check-in. Once your pup is settled, we guide them to the appropriate play yard based on size and temperament. From there, they join their Camp buddies for supervised open play in our indoor and outdoor areas.

Throughout the day, dogs enjoy toys, games, and plenty of space to run or lounge. Our Camp Counselors stay in the yards with the dogs, watching body language, redirecting when needed, and giving out affection and encouragement. We strive to make sure shy pups feel supported and social butterflies still have structure.

Rest is an important part of a healthy day. We provide cozy cabins for downtime, especially for younger dogs or pups that need a little break from the action. If your dog has a midday meal, we can follow your instructions so their routine stays familiar and comfortable.

When pick-up time arrives, you meet a tired but satisfied dog who has spent the day playing and relaxing with friends. Many parents tell us they notice calmer evenings and more settled behavior after a full day at Camp.

A typical day at our Camp usually includes:

  • Morning check-in and a warm welcome from our team
  • Placement into a suitable play group with similar dogs
  • Supervised open play in indoor and outdoor yards
  • Regular breaks in comfortable cabins as needed
  • Afternoon play sessions and wind-down time before pick-up

You can also peek in on the fun using our web cameras. Many families enjoy checking in from the office or while running errands, just to see their pup romping with new friends.

How We Keep Campers Safe

Safety is usually the first question dog parents ask, and it should be. Group play works best when every dog is healthy, comfortable, and properly supervised. At our Camp near The Woodlands, we follow clear procedures that help create a safe, positive experience for each Camper.

Before a dog joins regular play groups, we complete a Camper screening. This is an initial evaluation where we review vaccination records and get to know your dog’s behavior and comfort level. We pay attention to how your pup greets new people, interacts with other dogs, and responds to the environment.

Once your dog is approved for Camp, we place them into play groups that reflect their size and general play style. Our goal is to match high-energy pups with similar friends and provide a calmer group for dogs who prefer a more relaxed pace. We monitor how dogs adjust and can make changes if we see that a different group would suit them better.

Our Camp Counselors are trained to read canine body language and to step in early if play gets too rowdy. They stay physically present in the yards, guiding interactions and giving dogs space when they need it. If a dog seems tired or overstimulated, we provide a break in a cozy cabin so they can recharge.

Facility safety matters too. We maintain secure fencing, controlled entry points, and climate-controlled indoor areas that are especially helpful on hot or stormy days in this part of Texas. Cleanliness is also a daily focus, and we work to keep play spaces fresh and comfortable.

Some of the safety measures we use every day include:

  • Camper screening and vaccination verification before joining play groups
  • Grouping dogs by size and general temperament for safer play
  • Active, in-yard supervision by our Camp Counselors
  • Regular breaks for rest so dogs do not become overtired
  • Secure, well-maintained play yards and cabins

We know that trusting someone with your dog is a big step. By sharing how we screen, group, and supervise Campers, we want you to feel comfortable that safety is at the center of each decision we make.

Dog Daycare FAQs

Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Near The Woodlands Area is here to help!

  • Yes, Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs attending daycare to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s also recommended that dogs receive the Leptospirosis vaccine annually, as it can be deadly and spread to humans.

The DHPP vaccine protects dogs from four serious and contagious illnesses: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.

Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs continue booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion usually given every 1–3 years.

In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all dogs attending daycare at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog daycare, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.

  • Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs must be spayed or neutered at 7 months of age in order to receive daycare and boarding services.

    • Camp Bow Wow understands that the choice to spay or neuter and at what age is a decision to be made for each individual dog and by the dog’s owner and veterinarian.
    • For safety in a play group, dogs must be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age to take part in boarding or daycare services at Camp Bow Wow.
    • As dogs reach sexual maturity, they are able to reproduce and hormonal changes occur that can alter behavior or may cause tension amongst other dogs within the group dynamic. This can impact the safety of all Campers and is not advised for open play environments.
  • Dogs staying overnight can be dropped off anytime that day during Camp hours. We suggest arriving before 4 p.m., so they can play, eat, and play again before bedtime. While you can check your pup in and out anytime during Camp hours at no additional cost, we do request you pick them up 15 minutes before closing, so we can tuck in our Overnight Campers.

  • This measure is to ensure the safety of all our Campers. Dogs can become possessive of toys, which can cause an altercation. If small pieces are torn off or broken off, a dog could choke or swallow and cause an obstruction.

  • You can view the free live webcams on the Camp Bow Wow website via your computer, tablet, or mobile device. We also invite you to download our iPhone or Android app to easily access the cameras from anywhere. The cameras are on during business hours when the pups are at play. Many locations offer luxury suites with 24/7 access to the suite’s webcam.
