What Puppy Care May Include

Care designed for puppies generally balances supervised play with enrichment and planned rest. The goal is to provide manageable experiences rather than continuous activity throughout the day.

Common elements may include:

Short social interactions: Positive introductions can help puppies become comfortable around people, other dogs, and unfamiliar environments.
Supervised play: Caregivers can observe how puppies respond during play and when they need a break.
Enrichment activities: Age-appropriate experiences can introduce puppies to different sights, sounds, movements, and routines.
Rest periods: Downtime gives young dogs a chance to settle and helps limit overstimulation.

Daycare Safety Standards in Oak Ridge North

Dogs entering our daycare must meet current vaccination requirements, satisfy applicable spay or neuter standards, and complete a Camper Interview. These daycare requirements shouldn’t be interpreted as separate Pawsitive Start Jr. eligibility rules.

We group dogs by size and temperament so placement reflects physical fit and behavior. Our staff members receive extensive training in dog behavior, pet CPR, and pet first aid to prepare them for supervising dogs throughout the day.

Pet parents can use our live webcams to check in during daycare and see the supervised environment firsthand.

Choosing Between Puppy Care & General Daycare

Puppy care typically addresses developmental needs through gradual socialization, guidance, and frequent opportunities to rest. General daycare serves dogs across a broader range of ages and temperaments, with behavioral grouping based on compatibility.

When considering either option, ask how puppies are introduced to other dogs, monitored during play, and given downtime. Discuss how your puppy responds to new people, busy settings, and separation from familiar caregivers. These details can indicate whether a supervised social environment is appropriate at this stage.

Why Choose Pawsitive Start Jr.? Pawsitive Start Jr. is perfect for puppies because it targets their need for play, learning, social interaction, and rest, ensuring they develop important social and cognitive skills early on. This helps keep them on the right track as they enter into their teenage years.

Daycare Enrollment & Pricing

Every dog must complete a free Interview Day assessment before the first daycare day or overnight stay. The assessment allows us to observe whether a dog is comfortable and suited to a supervised social environment.

New Campers receive their first day free. Our listed price for one dog is $32.00 for a Full Day of Day Camp and $20.00 for a Half Day of Day Camp. Pricing is all-inclusive, with no hidden fees.

These amounts apply to daycare and don’t establish Pawsitive Start Jr. pricing or package options. Please contact us for current program availability, pricing, and enrollment offers.

Preparing for a Puppy Daycare Assessment

An initial assessment considers whether a puppy appears comfortable in a supervised social setting. Before the enrollment conversation, be ready to discuss your puppy’s health history and behavior around dogs and people.

Daily routines can also give caregivers a clearer picture of what your puppy is accustomed to. Useful details include feeding patterns, typical rest times, comfort needs, and responses to unfamiliar environments. Ask which health records and other information you’ll need when arranging the assessment.
