Grooming as Part of a Full Camp Day

Choosing a dog groomer means trusting who you leave your furry family member with. At our Camp in Meridian, grooming is part of a full day of care that includes supervised play, cozy rest areas, and attention from our Camp Counselors.

Instead of a quick in-and-out visit, pups can enjoy time in spacious indoor and outdoor play yards where they can stretch, sniff, and socialize. When it’s time for grooming, we guide them into a calm, clean grooming area and keep the experience as relaxed as possible. Afterward, they can settle into a cabin or return to play, depending on what suits them best.

We focus on each dog’s emotional and physical well-being. That means we pay attention to temperament, age, and energy levels. Our groomers work closely with the rest of our team, who already know many Campers from daycare and boarding.

Every new Camper completes our Camper screening process before joining group play, and facility conditions are monitored throughout the day. You can check in on your dog through our web cameras.

What to Expect During a Grooming Visit

Before you book that next appointment, here’s what to expect from check-in through pick-up.

At check-in, we talk with you about your dog’s coat, comfort level, grooming preferences, matting concerns, and handling sensitivities. We also confirm the requested services and any playtime or rest plans so we can coordinate the day around your pup’s needs.

Before and after grooming, many dogs enjoy supervised play in our indoor and outdoor play yards. Others prefer a quieter routine with more breaks and cabin time. We pay attention to how each dog responds during the day and adjust the pace when a break may be appropriate.

During grooming, we focus on cleanliness and comfort. Services can include bathing, brushing, basic coat care, and nail trims, depending on what you select when scheduling. We work at a pace intended to help dogs remain calm rather than rushing through the visit. At pick-up, we share how your dog’s Camp day went and can offer basic guidance for maintaining their coat between visits.

Grooming with Daycare & Boarding

For many families in Meridian, time is just as valuable as a shiny coat. That’s why we offer grooming as part of a broader Camp experience. Dogs can come in for a day of play, enjoy time with their canine friends, and then head home fresh and clean after a visit with our groomers.

If your pup is staying overnight, we can often coordinate grooming during their boarding stay. This allows bathing, nail trims, supervised play, rest, and Camp Counselor attention to take place in the same familiar Camp environment.

Our team knows the rhythms of a Camp day and uses that knowledge to coordinate grooming with other activities. We can consider your dog’s energy level, age, temperament, and preference for play or quiet time when organizing the schedule. Dogs who regularly attend daycare or boarding also spend the day with Camp Counselors who may already be familiar with their routines.

Instead of making separate trips across town to a standalone groomer and another care facility, you can drop your dog off at our Camp in Meridian and pick them up after a day that can include play, rest, and grooming.

Safety, Comfort & Cleanliness

At Camp Bow Wow Meridian, our Camper screening process helps us create safe, appropriate playgroups for dogs who join daycare before or after grooming. This screening considers behavior and compatibility so we can determine whether group play is an appropriate fit. Throughout the day, Camp Counselors supervise play and watch how dogs interact and respond.

In the grooming area, we focus on a calm, clean environment. We keep tools and spaces tidy, pay attention to noise levels, and watch for signs that a dog may need a short break. Our team understands that some pups are wiggly, some are shy, and some just need a little extra patience.

Regular bathing, brushing, and nail trims can support coat cleanliness and everyday comfort between visits.

Dog Grooming FAQs

Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Meridian is here to help!

  • An exit bath is a bath scheduled at the end of your dog’s boarding or daycare stay so they go home clean and fresh after all their Camp adventures. We time it close to pick-up so your pup is dry, brushed, and ready for snuggles when you arrive. Just ask to add an exit bath when you book your Camper’s stay.
  • Most dogs benefit from a nail trim every 3–6 weeks, but it depends on how fast their nails grow and how much they naturally wear them down. If you can hear your pup’s nails clicking on the floor, it’s usually time for a trim. Our groomers can recommend a schedule that keeps your Camper’s paws healthy and comfortable.
  • Both nail grinding and clipping can be safe and effective when done properly. Clipping quickly shortens the nail, while grinding can smooth and round the edges, which some pups and pet parents prefer. Our team can talk through the options and help you choose what’s best for your dog’s comfort and nail health.
  • A typical dog bath service includes a gentle shampoo, a thorough rinse, towel and/or blow dry, and a brush-out suited to your pup’s coat. Some Camps may also offer add-ons like nail trims, ear cleaning, or de-shedding treatments. We’ll always let you know exactly what’s included so your pup gets the most out of their bath time.
  • Many pet parents love adding a bath at the end of a boarding stay or a big day of play so their pup comes home clean, soft, and cuddle-ready. After all that fun in the play yards, a fresh bath can be a nice finishing touch. Let us know at booking if you’d like to schedule a bath so we can plan your Camper’s “spa time” before pick-up.
