What’s your background (personal or professional)?
I'm a North Carolina native who moved to South Carolina about three years ago. My background is mostly in customer service and retail, but I've always had a passion for animals. I was the youngest child in my family and grew up around lots of cousins who loved the outdoors. We were always on the go. I even had a pony at one point, his name was Peanut. There has always been a dog or two at my house as long as I can remember!

What do you love most about your job?
I really enjoyed learning all the different personalities that each dog has. I absolutely love them all, from the goofy little boston terriers to the laid back labs. It really makes my day to go into the yard with them and see how they respond to me. Some wag with their entire bodies. Some will come and sit politely in front of me with the biggest grin.

    Tell us about your pets:
Journey is an amazing staffordshire terrier that was a rescue from Greenville Animal Care. Once I started working at Camp I really wanted a dog again. I hadn't had one for about a year because I was in a new apartment. I fell in love with her picture on their website and there was an instant connection. I knew that I needed her in my life. The day I went to see her she crawled into my lap and pressed her head against my shoulder. It was over from there! She's very small but has so much personality. She loves everyone she meets and is a little awkward, much like her mom!

What are your hobbies outside of Camp?
I like to be outdoors. I like camping, being on the beach, and going for walks with Journey. I'm also a homebody at times. I like to cook and enjoy nights in with close friends.

If you were a dog, which breed would you be?
A dachshund, because I'm sweet, sassy, and close to the ground!

What’s your background (personal or professional)?

I am married with one 5 year-old daughter, and have lived in South Carolina for over 17 years. During that time I have gained 7-years of management experience, and truly enjoy working with both people and dogs! Coming to Camp Bow Wow was an easy decision for me because it allowed me to follow my dreams and interact with people, but also work with dogs everyday as well.

What do you love most about your job?

The dogs, of course! I love getting to know all of them and each of their unique and individual personalities. I like to spend my free time playing with the dogs at Camp developing a bond with each one, from our Great Danes to our little Chihuahua's they are all different but have so much love to give! My favorite part of each day is watching the dogs as they come into Camp, each pup is so excited and happy to be there which is an amazing feeling. You know you're doing something right when you work in a place that wants the absolute best for the dogs, and it shows!

    Tell us about your pets:

Shadow is a 13 year-old labradoodle who still has a ton of spunk at his age, and Athena is an American Bulldog mix with boundless amounts of energy! I also have two cats, Zailey and Esma. Shadow loves to sleep in the sun by the window and curl up near our cats when they let him.

What are your hobbies outside of camp?

Spending time with my family, watching movies with plenty of popcorn, and taking trips to the park.

If you were a dog breed, which would you be?

    Brussels Griffon

    Skills and Experience

Background: I am from the DC area of northern Virginia where I initially attended college with a major in physics, but I left school after deciding that was more of an interest rather than something I wanted to pursue as a career. Having had a lifelong affinity for animals, I got my first real job at an animal shelter. I've moved around a bit over the years, but have always worked with dogs wherever I land. Eventually I wound up here in Greenville and found Camp Bow Wow right away. I've worked in every department in camp, from counselor and bather to team lead, and when the opportunity arose to branch into training I happily accepted the challenge.

Hobbies outside of work: I enjoy getting out exploring nature or smaller quiet social gatherings, but I also need my hermit time to myself just reading, meditating, listening to podcasts and lectures on a wide variety of topics, or playing video games.

    Fun Facts

What I love most about my job: Working with dogs is engaging and rewarding. In camp you get to know so many dogs that you look forward to seeing every day, while training allows you to spend that quality one-on-one time with dogs and work with them to overcome challenges, enrich their lives, or just have fun learning new tricks.

My pets: I am between dogs at the moment, but I have a 13 year old kitten who refuses to age.

If your were a dog, which breed would you be: I would be a shikoku. They tend to be stoic and guarded on the surface, but when they get to know you they will reveal a more goofy and fun-loving side, and once they accept you as their own you will have a loyal ally for life.

    Skills and Experience

Background: I am originally from Ohio and moved to South Carolina when I was 17. I love South Carolina but I definitely miss being in Ohio. I have been working with dogs since I was old enough to have a job and they are my life.

What are your hobbies outside of Camp: When I am not at work I love to travel and go places with my pups, exploring new places and seeing new things. I particularly love any place with good weather and a beach.

    Fun Facts

What I love most about my job: Being able to have a relationship with both the dogs, and their owners is the best part of my job. This job lets you get to know each of these dogs personally, and I love seeing them grow and change over the years.

My pets: I currently have 3 dogs: Chewy, Peanut, and Betty Beans. Chewy is a purebred Wookie. He is the most unique and beautiful dog that we got from the Humane Society. Peanut is a 7lb Chihuahua who rules the house and is your typical feisty little boy! Betty Beans is a 3 year old Pit Mix we rescued from Animal Care and while she seems docile at first as soon as she gets to know you she gets zoomies for days!

What is your favorite breed of dog: My favorite breed is the English Bulldog. I haven't had the pleasure of owning one yet but I will one day! There is something about their wrinkles and "go with the flow" attitude that I just can't get enough of.
