Safety Standards That Give Pet Parents Real Confidence

Leaving your dog in someone else’s care takes trust. Our safety practices are built specifically to earn it. Every staff member holds Certified Camp Counselor® credentials, which require extensive training in dog behavior, CPR, and pet first aid. That training shows up in how our team reads the room during play, handles unexpected situations, and responds quickly when a dog needs attention.

  • Camper Interview Required: Every dog must complete a temperament assessment before joining group play. It protects the dogs already in our care and can help us set your pup up for success from day one.
  • Vaccination Screening: All Campers must be spayed or neutered (if seven months of age or older) and current on rabies, Bordetella, and distemper vaccinations. Review our full reservation policies before your dog’s first visit.
  • Live Web Cams: Check in on your dog anytime from your phone or computer. Our Live Web Cams give you a real-time view of the play areas throughout the day.
  • 24/7 On-Site Surveillance: Every area of our facility is monitored around the clock so nothing goes unnoticed.

Indoor & Outdoor Play Areas Built for Every Dog

Active dogs and mellow ones both find their place at Camp. Our outdoor play yards are fully secured with durable fencing and staffed by Camp Counselors® who keep the energy positive and safe. During warm months, agility equipment and water play options give high-energy dogs extra outlets. When Chattanooga summers heat up, the option to move inside means play doesn’t have to stop.

Outdoor Yards for Exercise & Fresh Air

Supervised outdoor sessions give dogs room to run, socialize, and burn off energy in a safely enclosed space. Our Counselors monitor every group, stepping in when play gets too rough and encouraging the kind of interaction that can build confidence over time.

Climate-Controlled Indoor Spaces

Our indoor play areas are climate-controlled and sized for dogs of all temperaments. Toys, agility structures, and designated quiet zones mean that whether your dog wants active play or a calm retreat, there’s a space that fits. Indoor areas are cleaned and maintained consistently throughout each day.

Your Dog’s Night at Camp: Individual Cabins & Genuine Comfort

Nights at Camp are designed to feel as settled as home. Each overnight Camper gets an individual Cabin with comfortable bedding, not a shared run or crate stacked next to strangers. Soft music plays in the background to create a calm atmosphere, and before lights out, every dog receives a nightly Campfire Treat™.

Think of it as a dog hotel in Chattanooga where the overnight experience gets the same care and attention as the daytime one. Our team follows each dog’s dietary schedule and individual routine so the transition from home can feel gradual, not jarring. For first-time boarders especially, those small details matter. Camp Counselors are available for extra cuddles and reassurance whenever a pup needs it.

Matched Play Groups & Smart Socialization

We pair dogs into play groups based on size, temperament, and play style so each session stays balanced and enjoyable. Before joining group play, every dog completes a temperament assessment that helps our team understand their personality and comfort level.

  • Matched play groups to support safer, happier social time
  • Continuous supervision from trained Camp Counselors during every session
  • Structured rest breaks so dogs can recharge throughout the day
  • Individual attention for pups who prefer a calmer pace
  • Positive, low-stress handling that can build confidence for first-time boarders

Not sure whether your dog will thrive in group play or needs a quieter approach? Our team can help you find the right fit before you book.

Dog Boarding FAQs

Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Chattanooga is here to help!

  • Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.

The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.

Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.

In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
