  • Jack the dog

May 2021 Camper of the Month

Jack is a 1.5-year-old Pit/Lab/Shepherd/Boxer mix and 100% sweetness! He’s been coming to Camp since he was a puppy just last year. He was an Alabama rescue puppy and adopted in December 2019. His family loves him to pieces and he is spoiled rotten. His favorite game is basketball – he refuses to play with any other type of ball! He likes the challenge of deflating them enough to carry around. Jack does love a good squeaky toy, but his family has gone through at least 100! He is incredibly affectionate and will not sleep at night unless he’s on his Dad (he won’t settle until he’s rested comfortably on Dad’s leg)! He’s very athletic and also an avid swimmer. His family is very grateful for Camp, and Jack is a very popular Camper! He has so many friends and is well-liked by ev-furry-body. We’re so happy to be a part of this sweet boy’s life!

  • Zoey

March 2021 Camper of the Month

Zoey is a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois and attends Camp on a regular basis each week. She's been a Camper since she was about 6 months old! Zoey loves coming to Camp and seeing all her friends! When she gets home, she runs into her mom's office and tells her all about her day! She is a very sweet and pretty girl and very pup-ular in the play yards. Her ears have a mind of their own - they go up, down, twisted, or combed over. At home, she is very chatty and never fails to crack her family up. She'll tell them everything that's going on outside, whether there's a squirrel, mail man, meter reader, turkey, etc. Zoey was adopted from POET animal rescue and was previously known as 'Cauliflower.' When her parents shovel or use the leaf blower, she thinks it's a game and will try to get her mouth over the leaf blower, making her lips fluff out. She's a great pup and it's hard to imagine Camp without her!

We love having Desmond as part of our Pack!

  • Tripp

    December Camper of the Month

Tripp is a 1-year-old basset hound who was adopted when he was 9 months old. He was named Tripp because of how long his ears are! His favorite activity is laying in the sun, which he could do for hours! He loves being outside and going for walks, though they can't go very far since it would take hours for Tripp to smell every piece of grass and when he gets tired he'll lay down in the middle of his walk. He's a very sweet boy who can be very stubborn! He isn't allowed on the furniture but his mom is always catching him asleep on the couch. He is very food motivated and loves his Nyla bones. Tripp is an absolute joy and has so much fun at Camp - he'd live at Camp if he could! We love having him as part of our Pack!

  • Moose

    November Camper of the Month

Moose is one of the cutest pups you could ever meet! He is an English Bulldog/Beagle mix and will turn 2 in January. He was adopted in April 2019 and has a very loving family, including other dog brothers! He is very sweet and always finds ways to entertain himself. He's incredibly playful and could play for hours and hours at Camp, especially if his bestest buddy Bruno is around! His favorite treats are ANYTHING (especially popcorn) and he loves sunbathing and exploring. Moose is crazy smart and often plays with two toys at once: he'll carry one and bat the other one around with his paws. He loves coming to Camp and we are so happy to be a part of his life! Moose is always so happy and fun to be around - he gives us tons of happiness in return!

She's a sweet and popular girl with lots of fur-iends at Camp and lots of energy! She is very treat motivated and will do anything for food. Since she and her family live in the forest, one of her favorite activities is watching out the windows for squirrels and deer. She also loves walking on the local walking trails and playing in the snow. Her favorite treats are cheese and carrots, and her favorite toys include tennis balls, rope toys, and her dinosaur bone. If there's one thing Sonja isn't fond of, it's rain. We love getting to have this beautiful girl be a part of our lives and we are so happy to have met her this year!

  • Henry

    March Camper of the Month

Henry is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd and is very pup-ular at Camp! He was adopted at 4 months old from the Humane Society of Huron Valley after his original owners had to surrender him. Henry's mom is grateful every single day for him; he has 100% changed her life for the better! This handsome boy is one of the sweetest pups you could ever meet! He loves greenies and his fox toy, as well as cuddling. He loves going to EZ Dog Park and often goes on road trips up north and loves car rides! Outside of Camp, Henry likes to hang out with his buddies Finley, Tiggy, & Marv. He loves Camp and we honestly can't imagine Camp without him!

The play yard is always guaranteed to be a riot when Bruno is at Camp! He is a very energetic player who gets along with everybody! The one thing this handsome pup does not like is mornings! He is not fond of his parents waking up super early and if he could have one wish, it would be for everybody to share their food with him. We woof you, Bruno!

  • Zephyr

    January Camper of the Month

Zephyr is a 12-year-old Greyhound who has been coming to Camp since 2015! He was adopted at 2.5 months old by his mom, Angelique, from a vet hospital during her last year of college at MSU. Zephyr’s favorite activities include playing in the snow, going for long walks at Thompson Lake in Howell, and napping on his own personal love seat in the living room. He lives a happy life with his mom and his dad, Andy, and his hooman baby sister. Zephyr thoroughly enjoys eating food off her high chair but is a very sweet big brother! He can be shy around new people but LOVES coming to Camp! He is a very sweet and gentle boy who loves his play yard naps. We woof you, Zephyr!

  • Elvis

    December Camper of the Month

Elvis is a 7-year-old Shih Tzu who has been coming to Camp since he was just a puppy! His mom believes that fate brought Elvis into their lives. He was born gold and white with black sideburns and since his mom is a huge Elvis fan, that's where his name comes from! Elvis is a sweet boy who loves all his Camp Counselors and even though he is friendly with other pups, he is more of an observer than a player. Elvis is very popular in his neighborhood as well! Everyone knows who he is and he loves all the neighborhood dogs, although he'll greet them with one sniff and sit and watch the other dogs play around him. This sweet boy has a huge personality and we are always so happy to see him!

  • Maggie & Ben

    November Campers of the Month

    Maggie & Ben

Ben & Maggie are 3-year-old Labradoodles who have been coming to Camp since 2016! Though they look like twins, Ben is 3 months older than Maggie and has a different mother. Ben has a special talent for wearing hats and glasses, while Maggie has a gift for sleeping with her head and feet facing opposite directions! They are best friends and love hanging out with their human family members and cat siblings. Ben & Maggie love hiking, camping, going to Kensington, outdoor restaurants, and naps. They love their CBW family, especially Devon and her treat pouch! They believe themselves to be lap dogs, but their family hasn't broken the news to them yet! We couldn't imagine Camp without this wonderful duo!

  • Maizie

October 2019 Camper of the Month

Maizie is a 5-month-old Border Collie and in just her first month of coming to Camp, has become very pupular with both Campers and Camp Counselors! She is a very playful girl who gets along with everybody and we have enjoyed watching her become more and more social since her interview day. Maizie's name was inspired by the colors maize and blue for UofM, since her parents are Wolverine fans. She is very fond of toys, especially frisbees. Some of her toys even have names, such as 'Jester,' 'Wolverine,' and 'Cracker.' Maizie loves bully sticks and prefers a cuisine which consists of dog bones mashed up in her food. Outside of Camp, her best friend is her "cousin," Sora. Maizie is such a sweet and pretty girl and it makes us so happy to see how much she enjoys coming to Camp!
