September Camper of the MonthPuppy-Sammy
Sammy (aka Puppy-Sammy) is an American Staffordshire Terrier and has been coming to Camp since 2018. She's 14.5 years old but remains very active! This girl is always on the move, walking her laps around the play yard every time she comes to Camp. All of us at Camp adore her and we melt every time she looks up at us with those big eyes. Sammy's dad travels a lot for work, so she comes to Camp often. She was adopted 14 years ago when she stopped 2 lanes of traffic in South Lyon. Her now-dad saw her running back and forth across the street and in order to keep her safe, yelled out "Puppy Puppy!" Sammy stopped, looked at him, and ran and jumped inside his car. After contacting the police and local Humane Society and not having any owners come forward, Sammy was adopted by her mom and dad, 3 hooman siblings, and 2 dog siblings. What a story! Her dad continues to call her "Puppy" to this day, while the rest of the family gave her the name "Sammy." Sammy is a very special girl and we're so happy to be a part of her life!

Her ears have a mind of their own - they go up, down, twisted, or combed over. At home, she is very chatty and never fails to crack her family up. She'll tell them everything that's going on outside, whether there's a squirrel, mail man, meter reader, turkey, etc. Zoey was adopted from POET animal rescue and was previously known as 'Cauliflower.' When her parents shovel or use the leaf blower, she thinks it's a game and will try to get her mouth over the leaf blower, making her lips fluff out. We love having Desmond as part of our Pack!
December Camper of the MonthTripp
Tripp is a 1-year-old basset hound who was adopted when he was 9 months old. He was named Tripp because of how long his ears are! His favorite activity is laying in the sun, which he could do for hours! He loves being outside and going for walks, though they can't go very far since it would take hours for Tripp to smell every piece of grass and when he gets tired he'll lay down in the middle of his walk. He's a very sweet boy who can be very stubborn! He isn't allowed on the furniture but his mom is always catching him asleep on the couch. He is very food motivated and loves his Nyla bones. Tripp is an absolute joy and has so much fun at Camp - he'd live at Camp if he could! We love having him as part of our Pack!
