What Your Dog’s Stay Looks Like
Knowing what will happen each day helps many parents feel more at ease. From the moment your dog arrives, we follow a consistent routine that keeps their needs at the center of every decision. We take time at check in to learn about your dog’s habits so we can fit them into our schedule with minimal disruption.
Morning typically starts with a potty break and a quick check on how each dog is doing. Breakfast follows, using your instructions for food portions and timing. After a short rest to let stomachs settle, dogs head into supervised play or activity time, tailored to their size and temperament.
As the day warms up, we balance indoor and outdoor time to help protect dogs from the South Florida heat. Play groups are monitored, and we pay attention to who enjoys active play and who prefers more gentle social time. Rest periods in quiet spaces help prevent overstimulation, especially for younger or older dogs.
Evening brings dinner, another round of outdoor breaks, and calm activities that help dogs wind down. For overnight dog boarding near Highland Beach that families choose, parents often want to know what happens after dark. Dogs return to their sleeping areas with fresh water and comfortable bedding, and the environment is kept peaceful so they can settle and sleep.
If your dog follows a specific feeding or medication schedule, we work to follow your directions closely. Our team notes how each dog is eating and behaving throughout the stay. If something seems off, such as a sudden change in appetite or mood, we take it seriously and respond according to your preferences and our policies.
This clear structure is also what makes our doggie boarding Highland Beach option a good fit for dogs that thrive on routine. While it is not the same as being at home, the rhythm of the day gives most dogs a predictable pattern they can adjust to during their stay.
Our Health, Safety & Comfort Standards
Health and safety are often the first things parents ask about, and with good reason. At our dog boarding service location near Highland Beach, we maintain vaccination requirements to help protect every dog that stays with us. We explain these requirements before booking so you can prepare records in advance.
Cleanliness is a daily priority. Sleeping areas, bowls, and common spaces are cleaned regularly, and messes are addressed promptly. This routine helps limit odors, keeps the facility more comfortable, and supports better hygiene for dogs that may be with us for several days at a time.
Safety during play and movement around the property is equally important. Play yards have secure fencing, and dogs are always monitored during group activities. We do not leave dogs loose together without staff watching, and we make careful choices about which dogs share space based on size and general temperament.
Because Highland Beach experiences heat and humidity for much of the year, climate control is a key part of comfort. We keep indoor areas at a comfortable temperature so dogs can cool down after outdoor time. Shaded areas and controlled outdoor sessions help reduce the risk of overheating.
If a dog seems anxious, tired, or slightly unwell, our team pays attention. Depending on the situation, we might provide extra quiet time, separate them from group play, or contact you to discuss next steps. Our goal is to notice changes early and to keep you informed when decisions are needed.
Comfort also includes familiar touches from home. Many parents bring a favorite blanket, toy, or bed that smells like home. These small details often help dogs relax and make the transition into boarding easier.
How Booking & Check In Work At Camp
Once you feel comfortable with our approach, the next step is simple. Booking ahead is especially helpful around school breaks and holidays, since those times can fill quickly. When you reach out, we confirm availability for your dates and gather a few key details about your dog.
We will ask about age, breed mix, general temperament, and any special routines you would like us to follow. This conversation helps us understand whether group play is a good fit and how to plan for feeding and rest. It also gives you a chance to ask questions about our dog boarding company near Highland Beach that pet parents use for repeat stays.
For your first stay, it helps to bring:
- Your dog’s regular food, measured or with clear feeding instructions
- Any medications with dosing directions from your veterinarian
- Up to date vaccination records that meet our requirements
- A favorite toy or blanket to add a familiar scent to their space
During check in, we review your dog’s routine, emergency contacts, and any health notes that might matter during their stay. We aim to move efficiently, especially if you have a tight schedule, while still leaving room for your questions.
Pickups are scheduled during our regular hours, and we encourage parents to plan timing that works well for their own travel. If you are delayed, we ask that you call us so we can discuss options. Our team is also available to provide general updates during longer stays, so you do not feel completely out of touch while you are away.
If you are ready to learn more or reserve dates, you can call us to talk through options and find out how our dog hotel location near Highland Beach that can support your next trip.

Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Boca Raton is here to help!
-
Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
