Dog Boarding in Alamo Ranch
Overnight Dog Boarding with All-Day Play for Northwest San Antonio Families
At Camp Bow Wow San Antonio Northwest, dog boarding isn’t a kennel stay. Dogs in our care spend the day in open-play alongside their daycare companions in spacious indoor and outdoor play yards, then settle into their own cozy cabin each night. For families in Alamo Ranch and the surrounding northwest San Antonio corridor, including the Bandera County and Medina County areas, it’s a genuine home-away-from-home rather than a run with a cot.
Alamo Ranch is one of San Antonio’s largest master-planned communities, with more than 20,000 residents across dozens of subdivisions near Highway 151 and Loop 1604. Active households here need a dog hotel Alamo Ranch families can count on for safety, consistency, and full-day enrichment, not just overnight custody. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to at every stay.

What Sets Our Dog Boarding Apart
Choosing doggie boarding for your pup is a real decision, and the differences between facilities matter. Here’s what pet parents from Alamo Ranch find when they board with us:
- Certified Camp Counselors: Every team member is trained in dog behavior, CPR, and pet first aid. They’re on the play yards throughout the day, not checking in periodically.
- All-Inclusive Pricing, No Hidden Fees: The nightly rate covers Day Camp open-play, your dog’s cozy cabin, feeding, and medication administration. There are no add-on charges waiting at checkout.
- Live Camper Cams: Log in from any device to watch your pup play or rest in real time. Many pet parents say this alone can make travel less stressful.
- One Location for Everything: Boarding, daycare, grooming, and training are all available at our facility, so you’re not coordinating between multiple providers.
- Vaccination and Screening Requirements: All Campers must complete a Camper Interview before their first stay and be current on Bordetella, Distemper (DHPP), and Rabies vaccinations. Dogs older than seven months must be spayed or neutered. These requirements help protect every dog in the play group from contagious illness and support compatible temperaments.
Safety starts before a dog ever sets paw on the play yard. Our Camper Interview screening process lets us meet each dog individually, assess their play style, and introduce them to the group in a way that supports a great first stay.
What’s Included in Every Overnight Stay
Dog boarding at Camp Bow Wow San Antonio Northwest is built around a full day, not just a place to sleep. From the moment your dog arrives, they join the Day Camp open-play groups in our indoor and outdoor yards alongside our daycare dogs, staying active, social, and engaged rather than sitting alone between brief walks.
Every overnight stay includes:
- All-Day Open-Play: Supervised group play in indoor and outdoor yards, structured around size, temperament, and energy level
- Individual Cozy Cabin: A private sleeping space with a comfy cot and fleece blankets for a good night’s rest
- Campfire Treat™: A nightly treat that’s become one of our most-loved Camp traditions
- Medication Administration: Bring prescribed medications with clear instructions, and our Camp Counselors can administer them at no extra charge
- Special Dietary Accommodations: Dogs with specific food requirements are accommodated during their stay
We also offer dog daycare near Alamo Ranch for pets that need daytime supervision without an overnight stay. Whether your pup visits for a day or a week, the play yard experience is the same.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Much Does It Cost to Board a Dog Overnight?
Overnight boarding rates vary based on your dog’s size and the cabin type you select. All rates are all-inclusive, covering Day Camp open-play, your dog’s individual cabin, feeding, and medication administration. There are no surprise fees at checkout. Contact Camp Bow Wow San Antonio Northwest directly or check the pricing section on this page for current nightly rates.
What Is Included in Dog Boarding Rates?
Every overnight stay includes full-day access to our open-play yards, an individual cozy cabin with a cot and fleece blankets, a nightly Campfire Treat™, feeding, and medication administration at no extra charge. Day Camp open-play is built into the boarding rate, so your dog isn’t waiting in a kennel run between walks.
Are Holiday Surcharges Common for Dog Boarding?
Holiday surcharges are standard across most professional boarding facilities, including ours. Demand spikes significantly around major travel holidays, which is why we recommend booking as far in advance as possible during Thanksgiving, winter break, spring break, and summer. Reaching out early can help secure your preferred dates and cabin type.
Does Camp Bow Wow Provide Daily Updates on My Pup?
Yes. Live Camper Cams let you log in from any device to check on your dog in real time during play or rest. You can watch your pup on the play yards any time during operating hours without needing to call or wait for a report.
Is the DHPP Vaccine Required for Dog Boarding at Camp Bow Wow?
Yes. All Campers must be current on Bordetella, Distemper (DHPP), and Rabies vaccinations before attending. These requirements apply to both boarding and daycare guests and are in place to help protect every dog in our play groups from exposure to contagious illness.
What Should I Bring for My Dog’s Boarding Stay?
You’re welcome to bring your dog’s favorite toys, a piece of bedding from home, or their regular food if they have specific dietary needs. Familiar items can help ease the transition, especially for first-time boarders. If your dog takes any medications, bring them in their original packaging with clear instructions, and our Camp Counselors can administer them at no extra charge.
Does Camp Bow Wow Accept Dogs of All Breeds and Sizes?
Yes. We welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes. Play groups are organized by size, temperament, and play style rather than breed, so every dog gets matched with compatible companions. All dogs complete a Camper Interview before their first stay, which helps us make the right group placements from day one.

Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
