Why Choose Us for Dog Day Care near Bensalem?
- Premium Care & Attention: Our certified Camp Counselors are dedicated to providing personalized and attentive care to each dog. We focus on your dog's happiness by encouraging socialization and healthy play.
- Spacious Play Areas: Dogs enjoy both indoor and outdoor spaces designed for fun and safety.
- Cozy Cabins for Rest: After playtime, pups can relax in their comfortable, private cabins.
- All-Day Play Experience: Our open-play model supports natural social behaviors among dogs.
Our facility promotes physical wellness and mental stimulation, providing an environment where dogs exercise, learn, and play. This combination keeps them happy and content, reducing stress and anxiety that can arise from separation or unfamiliar settings. Our approach follows modern pet care philosophies that emphasize the overall well-being of animals.
For many pet parents in the Bensalem area, convenience matters just as much as quality. Our location makes it simple to swing by on the way to work, and our check-in process is structured to confirm vaccinations, review feeding instructions, and answer last-minute questions without slowing you down. Once your pup heads into the play yard, our team continually rotates activities, from group fetch sessions to quieter sniff-and-explore time, so that dogs with different play styles can all find something that feels comfortable and fun.
We also understand that every dog entering our dog day care has a different comfort level in social situations, especially if they are new to a busy play environment. Before a dog joins a larger playgroup, our team gives them a chance to explore the space at their own pace, meet a counselor, and slowly be introduced to one or two calm dogs. This gradual approach helps build confidence, reduces overwhelm, and allows us to observe how your dog communicates so we can place them in groups where they will feel relaxed and engaged.
Safety Is Our Priority
Safety is our top concern at Camp Bow Wow Philadelphia Northeast. We implement a thorough camper screening process and constant facility monitoring to maintain a safe environment. Our Camp Counselors are trained to supervise all interactions, ensuring a playful yet safe atmosphere for every dog.
Steps We Take to Ensure Safety:
- Comprehensive Screening: We assess each dog's temperament to help ensure compatibility with our community.
- 24/7 Facility Monitoring: Our spaces are equipped with video surveillance for added safety and security.
- Trained Staff: Certified counselors keep an eye on all activities and step in early to prevent potential issues.
We are also committed to ongoing staff training in current pet care safety practices and first-aid techniques. This commitment to education means our Camp Counselors are prepared to handle situations that might arise, from minor scrapes during play to more serious emergencies, while maintaining a calm and controlled environment.
Before any new camper attends a full day, our team reviews vaccination records and confirms that your dog meets our health requirements, which helps protect the entire playgroup. During the day, counselors watch for subtle changes in body language, such as pinned ears or tucked tails, and can redirect energy with a quick break or a quieter activity when a dog seems overstimulated. We keep clear pathways in and out of each play yard so dogs can be separated smoothly if needed, and we routinely inspect play equipment and fencing to make sure everything remains secure.
We also maintain detailed notes on each pup's behavior and preferences, which allows us to spot patterns over time and make adjustments that keep play sessions safe and enjoyable. For example, if a dog consistently prefers smaller groups or morning play over afternoon romps, we will try to schedule their time accordingly. This attention to how individual dogs respond to the environment creates a safer setting for every camper and gives pet parents confidence when they choose dog day care in this area.
A Quality Option For Dog Day Care Near Bensalem
Residents in Bensalem have a trustworthy option at Camp Bow Wow Philadelphia Northeast. We provide thorough dog care by combining knowledgeable guidance, modern facilities, and genuine care for our community of dogs and pet parents. Choosing us means choosing a second home for your beloved pet.
Our dog day care center offers more than just a place to leave your dog; it serves as a community hub where pets and parents can form lasting connections. Our focus on creating a warm environment where dogs can socialize and play helps to foster positive behavioral traits and improve social skills among all our campers, making it a balanced choice for pet parents in the area.
Many families who visit us share that they notice changes at home after their dogs begin attending regular play sessions, such as calmer evenings, better sleep, and more relaxed walks around their neighborhood. Because dogs can burn off energy and practice polite social behaviors during the day, they often return home ready to settle in and enjoy quiet time with the family. Over time, this balance of exercise, structure, and rest can support training efforts and help reduce unwanted behaviors that sometimes appear when dogs are bored or under-stimulated.
We also value the relationship we build with pet parents in Bensalem and nearby communities. Our team is always available at drop-off or pick-up to share quick updates about your dog's day, such as new friends they have made or games they particularly enjoyed. For those who want a deeper look, we can review how your dog is adjusting to group play and discuss any small adjustments that might make future visits even more rewarding, creating a true partnership in your dog's care.
What Your Dog's Day Looks Like
Knowing what happens during a typical visit can make choosing a dog day care near Bensalem feel much easier. We follow a consistent rhythm each day so dogs feel secure, while still leaving room for plenty of fun and variety. From arrival to pick-up, your pup is guided through a mix of play, rest, and gentle structure that keeps them engaged without becoming overwhelmed.
Morning check-in starts with a quick greeting and health review as your dog enters the building, then they are walked to their assigned play yard to meet friends with similar size and play style. After initial sniff-and-greet time, counselors introduce group games such as ball toss, chase, or simple agility challenges that encourage movement and social interaction. Between activities, dogs always have access to fresh water and shaded or climate-controlled areas, which is especially helpful during hot or cold stretches common in the region.
As the day moves into the afternoon, we build in predictable downtime so pups can recharge in their cabins or a quieter corner of the play space. This pause helps prevent overtired behavior and gives dogs who are still getting used to group play a chance to relax. Later in the day, staff may rotate toys, set up new play stations, or divide groups into smaller circles so dogs can end the afternoon on a positive note before heading home. By the time you arrive for pick-up, your dog has enjoyed a full schedule designed to leave them satisfied, content, and ready for a peaceful evening with your family.
Getting Started With Dog Day Care Near Bensalem
If you are considering dog day care for the first time, understanding how to get started can remove a lot of uncertainty. We follow a clear, step-by-step process that helps both you and your pup ease into the experience. By the time your dog attends a full day, you will know exactly what to bring, what to expect, and how we will keep you updated.
The process usually begins with a conversation by phone or online, where we gather basic information such as your dog's age, breed, and any health considerations. After that, we schedule an initial evaluation day so your dog can visit the building, meet a counselor, and be slowly introduced to a small group of dogs. During this visit we pay attention to how your dog handles new sounds, smells, and interactions, then share our observations with you so you can decide how often day care will best fit your routine.
Once your dog is ready to join regular play groups, we confirm vaccination records and review feeding or medication instructions so the transition to dog day care visits near Bensalem is smooth. On each visit day, you can bring your pup's preferred food if they eat lunch, along with any labeled items that make them feel comfortable, such as a special harness. After pick-up, our team is happy to answer questions about how the day went and offer suggestions on schedule frequency, which helps you build a routine that supports your dog's energy level and your own work or travel needs.
How Dog Day Care Supports Your Dog's Well-Being
Regular attendance at a trusted day care can play an important role in your dog's overall well-being. Many dogs benefit from having a predictable outlet for their energy and curiosity, especially when their families are away from home for long stretches during the day. A thoughtfully planned schedule of play and rest gives them a sense of routine that can carry over into calmer behavior at home.
Social time with other dogs offers a safe way to practice polite greetings, turn-taking, and sharing space, all under the guidance of attentive staff. Dogs who may be unsure around new friends at first often gain confidence as they experience positive interactions in a controlled setting. Over time, this can make walks through busy neighborhoods or trips to local parks more enjoyable for both you and your pup because they have already learned how to read other dogs' body language.
The mental stimulation that comes from new smells, textures, and play equipment is another benefit of choosing a structured dog day care in this area. Instead of spending the day waiting for you to return, your dog is engaged in activities that challenge their mind as well as their body, which can help reduce boredom-related chewing, barking, or pacing. Combined with the peace of mind you gain from knowing your dog is supervised and cared for, these benefits make day care an appealing part of a long-term plan to keep your companion healthy and happy.

Bensalem FAQs
Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Philadelphia Northeast is here to help!
-
Yes, Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs attending daycare to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s also recommended that dogs receive the Leptospirosis vaccine annually, as it can be deadly and spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects dogs from four serious and contagious illnesses: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs continue booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion usually given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all dogs attending daycare at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog daycare, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
-
Camp Bow Wow requires all dogs must be spayed or neutered at 7 months of age in order to receive daycare and boarding services.
- Camp Bow Wow understands that the choice to spay or neuter and at what age is a decision to be made for each individual dog and by the dog’s owner and veterinarian.
- For safety in a play group, dogs must be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age to take part in boarding or daycare services at Camp Bow Wow.
- As dogs reach sexual maturity, they are able to reproduce and hormonal changes occur that can alter behavior or may cause tension amongst other dogs within the group dynamic. This can impact the safety of all Campers and is not advised for open play environments.
-
Dogs staying overnight can be dropped off anytime that day during Camp hours. We suggest arriving before 4 p.m., so they can play, eat, and play again before bedtime. While you can check your pup in and out anytime during Camp hours at no additional cost, we do request you pick them up 15 minutes before closing, so we can tuck in our Overnight Campers.
-
This measure is to ensure the safety of all our Campers. Dogs can become possessive of toys, which can cause an altercation. If small pieces are torn off or broken off, a dog could choke or swallow and cause an obstruction.
-
You can view the free live webcams on the Camp Bow Wow website via your computer, tablet, or mobile device. We also invite you to download our iPhone or Android app to easily access the cameras from anywhere. The cameras are on during business hours when the pups are at play. Many locations offer luxury suites with 24/7 access to the suite’s webcam.
