Positive Early Experiences for Your Puppy

Pawsitive Start Jr. gives young dogs a place to play, socialize, learn, and enjoy enrichment during an important stage of development. At Camp Bow Wow Monroe, the program welcomes puppies from four months and up, helping families in Monroe, Washington introduce daycare through supervised care.

Before joining group play, each new Camper completes a Camper Interview. We learn about your puppy’s temperament, comfort, and energy level, then identify a compatible play group based on size and activity level.

How Positive Socialization Supports Puppies

Positive socialization introduces a puppy to unfamiliar environments, objects, sounds, people, and interactions at a manageable pace. Continued exposure throughout puppyhood can build comfort with new situations into adulthood.

Supervised play lets puppies practice canine communication and appropriate interaction with compatible dogs. Because play and new experiences require energy, quiet rest is equally important. Downtime allows a puppy to recover before returning to activity.

Supervised Puppy Daycare in Monroe

Our Certified Camp Counselors receive extensive training in dog behavior, pet CPR, and pet first aid. Throughout the day, they monitor how each Camper responds to play, social interaction, and the surrounding environment.

We group dogs by size, temperament, and activity level. Smaller or more timid puppies can play with compatible friends in an environment suited to their comfort and play style.

You can check in during the day through our live webcams. Accessible from a computer or mobile device, the cameras let you see your puppy enjoying time at Camp while you’re away.

What a Balanced Puppy Care Routine Includes

A balanced routine combines supervised social time, age-appropriate activity, enrichment, and quiet rest. Safe, supervised challenges encourage puppies to investigate and engage their senses, while downtime provides a pause between stimulating experiences.

Caregivers should consider a puppy’s energy and comfort when deciding how the puppy participates in group play. Consistent routines also help young dogs anticipate transitions between activity and rest.

A thoughtful puppy routine accounts for:

Supervised interaction with compatible dogs
Activity suited to the puppy’s age and energy
Opportunities for sensory engagement and investigation
Quiet periods between active experiences

Why Choose Pawsitive Start Jr.? Pawsitive Start Jr. is perfect for puppies because it targets their need for play, learning, social interaction, and rest, ensuring they develop important social and cognitive skills early on. Camper Interview & Daycare Requirements

Every new Camper at Camp Bow Wow Monroe must complete and pass the required screening before joining daycare. We get to know your puppy and consider temperament, size, and energy level when identifying an appropriate play group.

All Campers must be current on required vaccinations, including Bordetella, and must be spayed or neutered by seven months of age. You can contact us beforehand to discuss vaccination records or eligibility questions.

The screening is the first step for new Campers, and their first day of daycare is free. Your puppy can become acquainted with Camp while we observe their response to the environment and nearby dogs.

Preparing Your Puppy for Daycare

Gradual, positive exposure to new people, dogs, places, and routines can make unfamiliar situations more comfortable. Before the initial screening, tell us about your puppy’s temperament, energy level, previous experiences, and behavior around dogs. These details help us plan appropriate introductions.

At home, predictable routines can reinforce positive behavior and make daily transitions easier to recognize. Puppies generally adjust best when caregivers respond consistently as they settle down, meet someone new, or prepare for another day of care.
