Mark, RaeAnn & Jodie, Ken Owners
Jodie Nelson and Mark Jarvis are a dynamic sister and brother team who were raised on a ranch in Missouri. They have both worked with animals most of their lives. Now married with families, Jodie and her husband Ken, and Mark and his wife RaeAnn have owned Camp Bow Wow Sandy since July of 2021.
Mark is a retired police detective/K-9 handler with over 19 years' experience working with and training dogs. His love of dogs and training led him to the Camp Bow Wow franchise opportunity. Raeann enjoys helping at camp and loves being a mom and grandmother. They cherish time with family and recreating in the great outdoors!
Jodie has experience with the public in banking, schools, insurance and home health industries. She and Ken moved from Brigham City to join forces with Mark and RaeAnn in opening Camp Bow Wow Sandy. Ken retired as a quality Engineer from Northrup Grumman in 2022. He and Jodie have 6 children and 15 grandchildren. They enjoy time spent with family and the amazing people and dogs they’ve met since opening the camp.

Geal Mangelson Marketing ScoutGeal is our Marketing Scout. She has many years of Marketing and Communications experience. She enjoys being part of our great Camp Bow Wow Sandy Team as well as getting to know pet parents and their beloved pups. Geal has a great love for music and plays the guitar and piano. Her hobbies include reading, travel, learning new things, writing and most sports. She loves to waterski. Her dog and cat pets have all crossed the rainbow, but she looks forward to adopting in the future.

Chelsea Scantlin General Manager
Chelsea Scantlin is our General Manager. Since our opening in July of 2021, she has helped our Sandy Camp grow and thrive into what it is today. Chelsea strives to make a home away from home for our furry family members when they come to stay and play. Her dynamic personality, and the expertise and knowledge she brings to Camp Bow Wow Sandy is critical as she trains our team and assists in the meticulously care of our doggie friends. Chelsea is a mom to her very busy son and many fur babies. Her at home animal family includes her dogs Doug, VooDoo, Spooky, Clarice, and two cats Chucky and Lilith. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Sheila Griffith Assistant ManagerSheila’s life has always included dogs and other animals. She grew up on a horse farm turned animal sanctuary, and spent several years working at a vet clinic where she took over the kennel program. 10 years ago, she left that kennel to be a stay at home/homeschool mom but she has missed working with dogs and their people. She discovered camp while trying to find a safe place for her rescue pup, Cerbie. She quickly realized how much Cerbie loved camp and it was his excitement for camp that made Sheila look into working here. Now both Sheila and Cerbie are excited to spend days at camp! Cerbie loves playing with all his fellow campers and Sheila loves getting to know their people.

Tiger Jasmer Certified Dog GroomerTiger has been grooming for eleven years and has been bathing dogs for three additional years prior. Her passion is the happiness of animals. She not only makes dogs beautiful, but she also volunteers as a foster for pups looking for their forever home. She has three dogs, three cats and two kids that call her mom and a husband too! In her spare time, she loves to read and snuggle with her furry friends and do fun projects with her daughters. Tiger can answer any questions you may have about the grooming needs of your dog including skin and coat issues. She is an amazing addition to our Camp Bow Wow Team!

Courtney Coon Front of House SupervisorCourtney recently returned to her birth state of Utah after adventures in Florida, Washington, and Idaho. While in Idaho, she helped on a farm, rescued animals, and owned a restaurant/arcade that gave kids a fun and safe place to hang out. After a big life transition, she found Camp Bow Wow and she’s so grateful she did! Camp quickly became a second home, and she feels lucky to be surrounded by such amazing coworkers and campers every day. Courtney has always loved animals and dreams of opening a rescue one day. She’s a proud mom to four boys (including a set of twins), a fur mom to her dog Arkham and two cats Mao and Orangey. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games with her kids, writing, making content for social media, creating SFX makeup looks and listening to music.

Helen Tsan Back of House SupervisorHelen was born and raised in Utah. Her family had an adorable Pomeranian named Eevee, and they look forward to having more animal family members in the future. Helen enjoys nature, art, games, eating yummy food, and hanging out with friends and family. Her favorite part about working at Camp Bow Wow is getting to know all the pups and working with a great team!

Alicia Abreu Front DeskAlicia was born in SLC but grew up in Des Moines, IA. She moved back to Utah 8 years ago and has never been happier. She enjoys skiing, hiking, golfing, and camping. She listens to fantasy audiobooks, plays Dungeons and Dragons and Pokemon Go. She loves animals of all kinds. Alicia has a Kenyan sand boa named Canel and a leopard gecko named Ziggy. She raises chrome roaches, and dairy cow isopods. She used to foster for Wasatch Exotics Rescue before she got a whole pack of dogs who are now her main focus. Her dogs Birdie 6yrs(Great Pyrenees), Bogey 4yrs(Schnauzer+Pomeranian), Divot 14yrs (Pomeranian), and Dimple 10yrs (chihuahua) are her whole world and she almost never goes anywhere without them. Alicia have been bringing her dogs to Camp Bow Wow since 2023 and loves how everyone is passionate about dogs. She thought it would be a fun place to work and confirms that is true!

Steven Amos Camp Counselor & Front DeskSteven has been with Camp Bow Wow Sandy since June of 2025 and has been a great addtion to our staff. He is great service our clients and their pups at the front desk. He has worked as a volunteer at The Animal Care of Davis County. Steven is currently working on a college degree in Computer Science. He is a board game fanatic!

Melissa Brown Camp CounselorMelissa Brown is a camp counselor. She comes to us with eleven years of experience working at a Pet Emergency Clinic as well as eight years employed at “Doggin Around” in California. She has three furry and pedigreed family members, Sunshine, Shiloh and Blu, all golden retrievers who she says are great family pets. Melissa loves dogs, crafts and she plays the trombone. She raised four sheep in high school. She appreciates the team atmosphere at Camp Bow Wow and enjoys interacting with the pup campers.

Nate Davis Camp CounselorNate loves his job and enjoys working with the dogs. He has always loved dogs and had a dog named Buddy until recently. Nate loves to play basketball and watch basketball, especially the Jazz. He competes in the Special Olympics in basketball and has won numerous gold medals with his team. He also loves to watch the Utes play football and goes to every home game. Nate usually has a smile on his face and is a wonderful addition to our Camp Bow Wow Sandy Team.

Tucker Summers Camp CounselorTucker was born and raised in Sandy and has had many pets in his lifetime. He currently has two six-year-old bloodhound sisters from the same litter, Mavis and Margaux. He enjoys hanging out with his family. He loves to play video games with his brothers and card/board games with his sister. Tucker really enjoys getting to know so many dogs and their various personalities at Camp Bow Wow. They always make him smile. Tucker is a great employee and we sincerely appreciate all he does to keep things running smoothly!

Jason Barnett Camp CounselorJason is a California native and completed a course in Animal Care in High School. His desire to become a veterinarian was extinguished by his fear of needles, which he has overcome. Jason has an Associate degree in Liberal Arts. He studied history at CSU Long Beach. He served in the US Airforce for four years and participated in Operation Desert Storm Southern Watch in Saudi Arabia. Jason loves to read and has a goal to read 1000 books. He loves literature, history, psychology, mythology and sports and is a talented musician. He plays guitar and in his spare time has recorded and released music albums. He is the proud father to four beautiful children. Jason is a devoted dog lover and finds great comfort surrounded by dogs. He loves working at Camp Bow Wow! His focus is to make the dogs as happy and safe as possible.

Victoria Rios Camp CounselorOriginally from Barstow and Las Vegas, Victoria brings her love for animals and the outdoors to Camp Bow Wow. She enjoys hiking, fishing with her dogs—Salsa, Richie, and Daisy, singing, tattooing and creating art. Nothing brightens her day more than being surrounded by dogs, giving and receiving love from each pup. Even on bad days, the love the pups at camp give her is what keeps her going strong. Her biggest dream is to one day have a farm full of nature’s best friends! We love having Victoria on our team!

Daphne Duckworth Camp CounselorDaphne has lived in the Salt Lake Valley her entire life. She has two dogs, a Chorkie and an Australian Shepherd mix, their names are Tas and Bender. She also has a Solomon Island Skink named Ryoko. Outside of work Daphne enjoys playing video games and watching anime with her family. At Camp Bow Wow she enjoys spending time with all the dogs and learning about them. Daphne is wonderful to work with and has a very calming influence.

Garrin Martinez Camp CounselorGarrin was born in Denver and spent time between there and West Jordan Utah growing up. After high school he enjoyed exploring the wonders of the Pacific Northwest. Garrin started working with dogs during the pandemic which was wonderful for him during that time. He loves interacting with the pups at play as well the tender moments he shares with them. Garrin is amazing at adjusting the care he provides to suit each dog's unique personality. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, going to the movies, making art and exploring the outdoors. Garrin brings quiet confidence and a genuine sense of peace to our team and our furry family members!

Naomi Shaw Camp Counselor
Naomi has loved dogs as long as she can remember and has always been the go-to pet sitter and trainer for her family and friends. She grew up surrounded by dogs, especially French Bulldogs! She has two pups, Peach (a 4-year-old Frenchie) and Bourbon (a 3-year-old English Bulldog), plus her turtle, Timmy! You can find Naomi outside hiking, swimming, rock climbing, or relaxing by a campfire in the canyon, with her dogs always by her side. She also spends time volunteering at local animal shelters, where she loves walking, playing, and cuddling with the pups who need some extra love. She even takes them on little adventure days!
Working with animals has always been her passion and she is amazing at making sure every dog at camp feels loved, safe, and part of the pack. We love having Naomi and her beautiful smile on our Camp Bow Sandy Team!
