Meet Our Current Foster Dogs Who Are Looking for Their Loving Fur-ever Homes in Dobson Ranch Mesa
At Camp Bow Wow Dobson Ranch Mesa, we believe every dog should have a loving fur-ever home. We work closely with local shelters and rescues to help with their adoption efforts, and often have foster dogs staying at Camp. These dogs get to play all day with other Campers, snooze the night away in individual Cabins, and get lots of love and attention from our Certified Camp Counselors®.

Meet Charlie Brown – a soulful, lovable Plott Hound mix with the kindest eyes and the biggest heart. He’s a belly-rub loving, squeaky-toy chasing, trail-hiking, water-loving goofball who would be the best workout buddy you could ask for. Just look at that face…
Charlie’s Story:
Charlie Brown was rescued by HARTT on January 1st, 2024. He joined us at Camp shortly after so we could help him on his journey to a forever home. One of our team members quickly fell in love and adopted him. With time, patience, and lots of love, Charlie became best friends with her two Dachshunds and learned how to share, play, and snuggle.
Unfortunately, after she left our team, life took an unexpected turn. She reached out months later, heartbroken, having become homeless and unable to provide the stable home Charlie needed. Of course, we welcomed him back — and now we’re doing everything we can to find him a safe place to land.
About Charlie:
- Approx. 2 years old / 65 ish pounds
- Best with smaller dogs or calm companions
- Not a fan of baths (they’re scary!), but loves swimming
- Working on confidence — can be “barky” with new people and on walks
- Fast learner and very food-motivated (needs a slow feeder!)
- Loves hikes, runs, and all things active
- Needs structure, patience, and positive reinforcement
- Currently training with our professional partner to build his confidence around new dogs and situations
What We’re Looking For:
- A foster home where Charlie can feel safe and continue building trust
- deally someone without a lot of other dogs or with smaller, calm pups
- A human who’s patient, active, and open to working with our trainer to help him succeed
We believe in Charlie, and we know his forever family is out there — but for now, we just need someone to open their home and heart to help bridge the gap.

Meet Rusty! This 9-pound bundle of cuteness is a Chihuahua mix with a heart as big as his ears!
Rusty is currently hanging out at Camp Bow Wow Dobson Ranch as a foster, and he’s on the lookout for his forever home.
He may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he’s full of playful energy and sweet snuggles. Rusty loves other dogs and is often seen zooming around with his camp buddies—he's got a fun, happy-go-lucky personality that makes everyone smile.

Kyle and Shirley were rescued as puppies from the MCACC euthanasia list for having Parvo. After successfully recovering, they were in foster homes until about 8 months old. At that point, they got too big for their foster to take care of them and ended up at the Arf-Anage Dog Rescue ranch, where they have been ever since. Both are amazing with people and great with other dogs.
