Why Choose Our Dog Hotel Near Sun City

When you picture a dog hotel in Avondale, you might imagine rows of traditional stays and a few short walks. Our Camp looks very different. We focus on open play in indoor and outdoor yards where dogs can romp, socialize, and relax under the watchful eyes of our Camp Counselors.

We believe dogs do best with a healthy mix of exercise, social time, and rest. That is why we build each boarding stay around all-day play and structured downtime, not limited to add-on play sessions. Dogs get to be dogs, running, chasing, and making new friends, then recharging in a cozy cabin when they are ready to rest.

Safety shapes everything we do. Before joining group play, every new Camper goes through our screening process to help us understand their play style and to confirm they are a good fit for the play yards. Our team then keeps a close eye on interactions, encouraging healthy play and stepping in when a pup needs a break.

Pricing is straightforward, which is a relief for pet parents who have been surprised by hidden fees elsewhere. Our goal is to include what dogs truly need, such as playtime and attention, so you are not deciding at check-in whether your pup gets extra exercise.

Because we are right here in Avondale, we are a convenient option for families in nearby neighborhoods. Many pet parents from Sun City also choose our Camp for boarding when they want a trusted spot their dog looks forward to visiting again and again.

What Your Dog’s Stay Includes

It is easier to relax on your trip when you can picture exactly what your dog is doing. From the moment you drop them off, we work to keep their routine predictable and fun. After check-in, your pup joins appropriate playgroups where they can explore our indoor play spaces or head outside to enjoy the fresh air.

Our indoor play areas are climate-controlled, which matters during warm Arizona days. Outside, dogs can enjoy secure yards with room to run and places to lounge. Throughout the day, we build in rest periods so pups can recharge and do not become overstimulated. Meals are served based on the schedule you share with us, and we follow your instructions for food and portions.

In the evening, after plenty of play and attention, dogs settle into their private cabins. These cabins are designed to feel cozy and calm so your dog can stretch out and sleep comfortably. A familiar blanket or toy from home can help many dogs relax, and we encourage you to bring a few comforts that fit our guidelines.

While you are away, you never have to wonder how your Camper is doing. Our webcams let you peek into the play yards during the day so you can see your dog having fun with friends. You get to watch the experience you are paying for, which builds confidence that you chose the right boarding option.

Every boarding stay typically includes:

  • All-day supervised play in indoor and outdoor yards
  • Private, cozy cabins for overnight rest
  • Scheduled meals following your feeding instructions
  • Structured rest breaks to keep pups calm and content
  • Lots of interaction with our Camp Counselors
  • Webcams so you can check in on your dog during playtime

Whether your pup is here for a single night or a longer boarding stay, we work to keep their days full of play and their nights relaxed. Many dogs return home pleasantly tired and ready to nap, which tells us they made the most of their time at Camp.

Safety, Comfort, and Camper Screening

We know that safety is the first thing many pet parents think about when they consider overnight dog boarding. That is why we start every new Camper relationship with a screening process. During this visit, we get to know your dog’s personality, watch how they interact with other dogs, and confirm general health requirements.

Once your dog has joined our Camp family, we place them in playgroups with dogs that have similar sizes or play styles. Matching energy levels and temperaments helps keep playtime fun and reduces the risk of misunderstandings between dogs. Our Camp Counselors stay in the play yards with the dogs, guiding interactions, offering breaks, and giving plenty of affection.

Cleanliness and comfort support safety, too. Our team follows regular cleaning routines so that cabins, play areas, and common spaces stay fresh and welcoming. We pay attention to details like fresh water, comfortable bedding, and safe play equipment so you can feel good about where your dog is staying.

During the night, the environment remains calm, which is especially important for first-time Campers. After a full day of activity, most pups settle nicely into their cabins. If you are feeling nervous about boarding for the first time, our team can walk you through what to expect so you feel more at ease.

For many families, doggie boarding brings up questions about supervision, cleaning, and how dogs get along with each other. We encourage questions and are happy to talk about our practices in more detail when you visit our Camp.

Boarding For Avondale and Sun City

Our Camp is part of everyday life for many dogs in Avondale. Pet parents use our dog boarding service when they travel for work, head out of town for the weekend, or plan a longer vacation. Knowing there is a trusted place close to home makes it easier to say goodbye at drop-off.

Being here in the area also matters during Arizona’s warmer months. Our indoor, climate-controlled play spaces and shaded outdoor yards mean dogs can stay active while still staying comfortable. We adapt playtime to the weather so your dog can have fun safely, no matter how hot it gets outside.

Families from nearby communities such as Sun City often choose our Camp when they are looking for a dependable dog boarding company that is not far from home. Many pups visit us for daycare before their first overnight stay so they can get familiar with the environment, the staff, and their new friends.

If you are thinking about dog boarding Avondale options, we invite you to come see our Camp in person. A tour gives you a chance to walk through the play yards, look at the cabins, watch our Camp Counselors in action, and ask all your questions.

When you are ready to plan a stay, our team can help you schedule your dog’s Camper screening and talk through what to bring. We work to make the process simple so you can focus on your own travel plans, knowing your dog will be well cared for while you are away.

Sun City FAQs

Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Avondale is here to help!

  • Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.

The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.

Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.

In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.

  • Yes, we offer dog boarding for all breeds! The safety and well-being of our canine guests are our top priorities. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we require all dogs to pass a Camper Interview. This process helps us determine if our play-based environment is a good fit for your pup.

While we don't discriminate based on breed, please note that some insurance policies and city ordinances may have restrictions. For specific questions about our policies, please contact your local Camp Bow Wow today.

  • To maintain our incredibly high standards and satisfaction ratings, your pup must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines.

Other vaccinations and requirements for dog boarding can vary by Camp. Contact your local Camp Bow Wow for details.

  • If you'd like to drop off your pup for overnight dog boarding stays, we suggest you bring them in before 4 pm to ensure they have plenty of time to play, eat and enjoy themselves before bedtime.

To ensure we can give your dog plenty of attention when you come to pick them up, we kindly ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes before closing time.
