Tips to Make Your Camp As Puppy-Friendly As Possible
National Puppy Day recently passed — and here at Camp Bow Wow, we were so excited to be part of the celebration! We absolutely love puppies, but let’s be honest, who doesn’t? With their cute little noses, flappy ears, and soft pink tummies, what’s not to love?
Being that we’re such puppy-enthusiasts, it’s only fair that today’s blog post goes to the dogs! We’re here to help current and future franchise owners build a safe, comfortable Camp for both adult dogs and puppies alike. Here’s how:
Keep food stored safely.
From puppy food to people food, anything edible should be safely packed away until needed. Not only are puppies more mischievous by nature, but their tiny tummies are also more sensitive than those of their elder Camp friends. It’s always best to have any food or treats out of reach and stored in airtight containers to be on the safe side.
Be cautious with your greenery.
This goes for all dogs, not just puppies! Making your lobby warm and inviting is very important — after all, first impressions are everything. However, it’s crucial to remember that there are certain plants that can be poisonous to dogs and puppies alike. Some of the most common culprits include aloe, holly, azaleas, lavender, lilies and tulips. For a complete list of both toxic and non-toxic plants for dogs, visit the ASPCA online.
Leave plenty of room for romping around.
Puppies sure have a lot of energy, so they’ll need somewhere to exhaust it all. Fortunately for pet parents, Camp Bow Wow offers both indoor and outdoor play areas for all the rolling, romping and ruffing a little puppy heart desires. Just make sure to keep these areas nice and tidy!
Have eyes and ears everywhere.
Just like babies, puppies can and will get into everything if left unsupervised. That’s why it’s so important to have your Camp fully staffed with loving, caring, and most importantly, attentive Camp Counselors at all times. In fact, it may even be beneficial to have extra hands on deck if you’re anticipating a puppy-heavy period of time.
At Camp Bow Wow, we take pride in knowing that our Camps are of the utmost quality. Our franchise owners and their teams are committed to keeping each and every pup that walks through the door as happy and safe as can be while under our watch. We welcome dogs of all ages, as long as they’re at least four months old, and are spayed or neutered by the time they reach six months.
Are you looking for an opportunity to build your financial future, all while helping pet parents in your area find safe doggy day care solutions for their furry friends? If so, perhaps it’s time to consider marking your territory and setting up a Camp of your own in one of our available markets.
