Madelena Campbell Promoted To Camp Director

They say that all good things must come to an end, but I don’t believe this to be so. I believe that all good things lead to a land of opportunity.

Today we announce that Kristie Klemm is stepping away from Camp Bow Wow to launch her own dog training venture. Ms. Madelena (Madi) Campbell takes over Camp Bow Wow Albany’s top leadership role as Camp Director. Mrs. Angela Sawyer has been promoted to Guest Services Manager, taking over the role previously held by Madi.

Madi Campbell started at Camp Bow Wow in October 2015 while pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Siena College – a degree she would receive in 2018. She began as a Camp Counselor and achieved Team Lead status soon after. In the summer of 2019, Madi was promoted to Guest Services Manager and transformed the role. In the six years that Camp has been open, the business has never seen customer service ratings as high as they have been over the past 12 months under her leadership.

Madi’s longevity and success at Camp are due to her being incredibly reliable, approachable, and dedicated. She foreshadowed this in her 2015 original employment application responding to why she would be a good fit for camp writing, “…I am very understanding when it comes to pets because of the animals that I have in my household and the animals I took care of during my previous job, so I would be very approachable and dedicated.”

Angela Sawyer started as a Camp Counselor at Camp Bow Wow in December 2019. In eight short months, she has proven herself proficient in managing play yards and versatile in lead roles for both operations and guest services. On multiple occasions, Angela has been singled out by pet parents for excellence in customer service.

In addition to praise from pet parents, Angela is often recognized by team members for her friendliness and willingness to teach others. This is no surprise given her Master’s Degree in Adolescent Education and her experience in teaching students at all grade levels. Angela will take the baton from Madi to ensure our pet parents receive a superior customer experience.

Please join me in truly celebrating the successes of Kristie, Madi, and Angela. All three are incredibly talented young women who have earned leadership opportunities through hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
