If you are looking for a companion for yourself or a companion for your four-legged friend, stop by The Animal Defense League. They have so many great dogs and cats to choose from.
Did you know that the Animal Defense League has a small park in the back of their facilities? They do. Take a stroll and see what they've done to the place. So many volunteers have really made a difference by fixing up the grounds. If you have a little extra time on these cooler days, take a drive to ADL and walk a dog through the grassy fields. You'll both enjoy plus you'll both get plenty of exercise.

Liza
Liza is from the Home for Pets in Schertz, TX. Liza is a 2yr old Shep Mix. She is tan in color and probably about 25lb. Liza was rescued from a home that had many dogs. The couple became ill and were unable to keep the dogs any longer. When Liza first came to us she was rather shy. We decided to foster Liza and help her to socialize. The first few days were tough as she was very scared. Several weeks went by and Liza slowly came out of her shell. She socializes and plays well with the other Campers. Liza has made many friends at Camp. Oh, and you should see the way she sleeps. I've caught her snoozing in her cabin on the cot with her legs in the air. Liza would do great in a home that can give her lots of love and attention. She doesn't seem to shy away from kids but my gut is telling me she'd do better with older children or even dogs if you already have one. Liza is current on all vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. If you are interested or know of anyone who's interested in meeting or adopting Liza, please give us a call at 210-826-9969. You can come by and meet Liza any time.
Maya
Maya is about 2 years old. She's a black Lab mix. Her tail does curl and she is very sweet. Loves people and the attention they give her. We are fostering Maya for the Bulverde Humane Society. Maya has come a long way. Upon her arrival, we had to wait a few days before introducing her. She showed few signs of aggression towards other dogs -- meaning she didn't socialize well. Eventually, we worked with her and now she is able to play well with the other dogs. She loves the water and will splash in the pools for a good 15 minutes. Maya is the kind of dog you can take for walks by the lake. Maya seems to be a sporty type of dog. We all agree she'd do better as an only dog as she thrives human attention. She is up to date on all her shots, spayed, microchipped and healthy. If you are interested or know of anyone who is interested in meeting or adopting Maya, please give us a call at 210-826-9969. You can come by and meet Maya any time.
