Meet the Martin Pack!
Camp Bow Wow Dallas High Five is owned and operated by Steve and Michelle Martin, both native Texans. Steve grew up in Edgewood, a small town just east of Dallas, and Michelle in Fort Worth, better known as Cow Town! Steve earned a Master’s in Physics from East Texas State University and an MBA from the University of Texas. He worked at Texas Instruments for 23 years as an engineering manager. Naturally, Steve is the "Big Brain" behind Camp Bow Wow DHF. Michelle earned her undergraduate in Advertising from U.T. Austin and her Master’s in English Literature from SMU, specializing in creative writing and medieval literature. Both degrees led her to a career in publishing in which she worked as an editor for college textbooks in the Humanities. Michelle strives to be the "Charm" in Camp, handling public relations, marketing, and advertising.
Steve and Michelle met on eHarmony in June of 2008 and married in 2010, settling near White Rock Lake in Dallas. They merged their fur-family Brady-Bunch style and now have four beautiful kids together: Zoë, Buster, Bella, and Charlie.
When Steve decided to take early retirement in 2011, he and Michelle began to ponder: What kind of business can we be passionate about and build together? Camp Bow Wow, with its focus on being the place where a dog can be a dog, and where giving back to the community is a core value, seemed the natural choice. Plus, the kids loved the idea! As the business grows, helping dogs find "Fur-ever Homes" through the Camp Foster Program will be a top priority. After all, it’s all about the dogs!
