Training Programs

Whether you're planning to board your dog overnight while you're away or plan to bring your dog to play with his friends during the day, or have some specific bahavior issues you would like to work on with your special pup we have a training program to meet your goals AND your busy schedule.

Camp Bow Wow has partnered with two of Greenville's best trainers to offer basic obedience, Day Training, Board and Train, and behavior Consultations.

Julie Caswell, Pawsitive Effects Dog Training

Spaces are limited so please contact Julie at Camp, at (864) 220-1223 or e-mail Julie at Juliecaswell@bellsouth.net to schedule you class time.

Day Training
You bring your dog to Camp for daycare or boarding and then schedule training sessions directly with Julie. Julie is a clicker and positive reinforcement trainer using treats, toys and life rewards. You select the behaviors you want your dog to learn or improve. This can be anything from not jumping on people, basic commands or learning to listen around distractions. You will receive a report card after every session stating what was worked on during the session, the progress your dog is making and recommendations for practicing at home.
Group Class
Julie has small group classes, 5-7 students so everyone receives individual attention. The classes are held in the evening, 7:00-8:00 pm at Camp Bow Wow for 6 weeks on different days. If you are looking for more socialization for your puppy, then a group class may be the perfect solution, as your puppy will be able to meet people, puppies and adult dogs in a safe environment.
Life Skills Class
This class will take your dog's basic obedience behaviors on the road. The first class will be held at Camp Bow Wow and the other five classes will be held at locations to be determined by the class. We will continue to work on your dog's basic obedience skills but will add in distractions by taking the class to a pet store, the dog park, downtown Greenville, and other locations to practice.
The one requirement for this class is that your dog must have an understanding of basic obedience cues such as sit, down, stay, focus, come, and loose leash walking. We will be using the clicker to train and if you are unfamiliar with the clicker I will discuss how to use it in the first class.

Mira meets with dogs and their people for behavior consultations at Camp Bow Wow. The focus of a behavior consult is to facilitate improved behavior so that both the human and canine ends of the leash come to a happy agreement about life together.

A behavior consult consists of the owner completing a behavior history and profile prior to the session. This gives a broad preview of the issues and clues about how the human-canine bond may be affecting behavior. During the consult, we discuss the canine species and the individual dog.   Owners learn how to implement a relaxation program, a benevolent leadership program, and how to provide canine specific enrichment.   Techniques used are developed from the ever-evolving fields of applied behavior analysis and ethology.

Also available is a comprehensive new puppy consult.   Owners learn the fundamentals of creating and maintaining a healthy relationship with their new family member.   Communicating effectively with a young puppy while identifying and addressing behavior issues early is a life-long gift to your new dog!
