Meet The Owners
Camp Bow Wow North is owned and operated by Barbara and Jordan Murray. Barbara is a native of Pittsburgh who grew up in the South Hills and attended Robert Morris University. Jordan moved to Pittsburgh in 2000 where he completed his MBA. Both had successful careers at BNY Mellon where they met and discovered how well they worked together. In 2004 they married and are happy to continue to call the South Hills home. They are the proud parents of two young children, three dogs and, two cats. Both are life long animal lovers and have volunteered their time and resources to various shelters and rescues organizations over the years.
They fell in love with the concept of Camp Bow Wow back in 2005 when they were exploring the option of leaving the corporate world behind in search of a career that they both truly had a passion for. After touring many of the Colorado Camp Bow Wow locations and getting to know franchise founder Heidi Ganahl, they knew they wanted to bring her concept of all inclusive, daycare based dog boarding to the Pittsburgh area. In 2005 they signed on as 13th CBW franchisee and opened their Greentree location. Due to the warm response from Pittsburgh dog owners they decided to open a second location in the North Hills in 2008 and are now in the process of opening a third location in the East End of Pittsburgh.
In addition to operating Camp the couple enjoys giving back to the community by helping to enrich the lives of homeless animals. In addition to each of their Camps foster dog programs they have worked with their fellow Pittsburgh franchisee since 2008 to organize the Annual Cupids and Canines fundraiser which benefits the Western PA Humane Society and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation. In 2010-11 they lent their time and expertise to support the Bow Wow Buddies Foundations "On Our Way Home Project". In addition to donating funds to the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, volunteering their time and expertise to the project, they also lobbied fellow franchisees to select the Western PA Humane Society - Falling Timer Shelter as the recipient of the first $50,000 On Our Way Home make-over grant.
In growing their business Barbara and Jordan stay true to the core philosophy that originally attracted them to the franchise; at the end of the day it is all about the dogs. They continue enjoy being involved with each location on a daily basis and strive to provide the highest levels of fun, safety and service to their furry clients as well as exceptional service and peace of mind to their parents.
