Camp Bow Wow Board and Train
Our Board and Train program is designed to jump start your dogs training in basic obedience , improve socialization skills, improve manners or work on any specific goal that you would like your camper to achieve. The program begins with a phone call between you and our trainer to discuss your expectations so that your program can be customized towards your unique needs as well as working on the basics. During your boarding stay, our Certified Dog Trainer will work with your camper throughout the day on behaviors such as walking nicely on a leash, not jumping up, sit, down, stay, come or any behavior you would like him to learn or improve upon. In addition, our camp counselors will use the commands that we are working on in the group play environment to reinforce the skills that are being taught by our trainer.
Our training program is a highly effective method of teaching your camper great behavior, but in order for your camper to retain this knowledge it is essential that you continue to use the skills that you both have learned after you return home. This is why we have also included one private training with you and your camper at camp, either at pick up or within the next two days. This session will give you a chance to work with our trainer and help you consistently utilize the commands as they were taught throughout the program. In addition you will receive one private in home session to take place within a month of your campers stay to discuss any training issues and to work with the whole family on any in home behavior problems you may be having.
Camp Bow Wow Play and Train
With our Play and Train Program, your camper can spend the day with us learning and still go home with you at night for those evening cuddle sessions. Drop your dog off in the morning for 5 consecutive weekdays and your camper will learn the same good behaviors (and unlearn those bad ones) as the board and train program. In between training sessions, your dog will be playing with other the dogs in daycare.
You will also need to spend some time at camp with your dog and our trainer on the last day of training so that we can teach you how to reinforce all of the great behaviors he has learned in the program. In addition you will receive a private in home session to take place within a month of your campers stay to discuss any training issues and to work with the whole family on any in home behavior problems you may be having.

Czarina
"I am extremely pleased with the training my dog, Czarina, received at Camp Bow Wow. Carolyn Schrier was the lead trainer and she clearly understood the personality and training needs of Czarina. Czarina is leash aggressive; Carolyn taught Czarina and me some training methods to allow Czarina to focus on me instead of other dogs.Carolyn also provided guidance to other camp counselors in training Czarina. This was positive because Czarina was being trained 24/7 by all councilors - not just by one for 1/2 an hour a day. I am sure this was a large part of the success of the training.
Although there is not a quick solution/fix to behavior modification - it will take time, patience, and practice to get Czarina at 100%, her training at Camp Bow Wow armed me with methods and techniques to begin to solve her leash problems. Your dog will not come out of training as "the perfect dog." This is unrealistic. But your dog will start to learn to change their behaviors. Most importantly, you will learn different methods in solving your dogs problems so both the humans and dogs can live in peace :)
Thank you Camp Bow Wow - we (Czarina and I) are so lucky to have you as a resource. After my mom, you are the only other people I feel secure about taking care of my dog"- Nicole C
Milo
"My dog Milo regularly attends the southwest (Greentree) Camp Bow Wow. He recently turned one year old. Several months ago he was still a little wild and unruly...as most puppies are. We took Milo to a puppy class and while it had some helpful information, it really didn't have much of an impact on his behavior.
One day while at Camp Bow Wow it was suggested to me that they were now offering dog training through Carolynn Schrier at Camp Bow Wow. She would provide the training there during the day so we didn't have to schedule any additional appointments or take time off our busy schedules. My family gave it some thought and then decided it was worth a try. To our surprise, after only one lesson we saw an immediate improvement! We were amazed that he had learned several commands so quickly and was behaving much better!
She worked with him several more times and then came to our home for a final consultation. She reviewed what he had learned, went over commands, gave us all sorts of helpful information, and asked us if we needed any more specific help. We explained that we also needed better control of him when taking him for walks. She showed us how to walk him and gave us many more tips...all of which were incredibly helpful.
We were extremely impressed with Carolynn and the improvements in our dog Milo...and we continue to be impressed on daily basis when we see him continue to progress well.
I wanted to pass along our appreciation and feedback to make sure that you are aware of Carolynn's success and so that other families might also benefit from her training.
Thanks!"
