Behavior Buddies Strongsville is our premier dog behavior and training program.  Behavior Buddies was created to help you modify your canine player's behavior issues, teach a new puppy the game, or make an already good dog an MVP!

Your Certified Bow Wow Behavior Buddies dog trainer will design a game plan to get your dog to All Star status! Our certified dog trainers were taught by top national dog behavior experts with a focus on a variety of proven training methodologies. We combine our extensive knowledge of dog behavior with your willingness to create a great relationship with your pup to create a slam dunk!

Obedience Training
Our obedience training is designed for all ages, from 10-week old puppies to more mature dogs. Our training program is structured to progress your dog from basic obedience all the way to being able to being a well-behaved dog in public, or even take their Canine Good Citizen’s test.
We have three obedience class levels that will take your dog from a bench warmer all the way to an All Star! Proof of vaccinations is required for all of our classes.
All of our classes include:

• Reinforcement methods proven to strengthen positive behaviors
• Proper correction techniques to diminish unwanted behaviors
• Knowledge of how and when to create replacement behaviors
• Techniques and tools to control excessive jumping, mouthing and barking
• Description, demonstration and practice of all tools

Level I – Basic Puppy  
This class is designed for puppies from 10 weeks old to 4 months old. We will focus on obedience, but also typical puppy behavioral issue. It is also a critical period for your dog to be socialized, so getting your dog in a classroom setting with one of our Certified Behavior Buddies training will help you understand the importance of this process and how to implement a game plan.
Our Basic Level course helps you teach your dog basic manners and work on behavioral issues. This is where you will start your journey to having a well-behaved dog by focusing on creating reliable behaviors and getting your dog to understand how to listen and respect you. In our Basic Puppy class you will learn commands such as:

• Sit
• Down
• Leave it
• Come
• Stay
• Walking nicely on a leash

• Potty training
• Chewing
• Jumping
• Digging
• Barking

Level I – Basic Adult
This class is designed for dog over 4 months old. We will focus on obedience, but also any issues that have become apparent during your dog’s juvenile period...or as we trainers call it, their “teenage” years. Proof of vaccinations is required.
Our Basic Level course helps you teach your dog basic manners and work on behavioral issues. This is where you will start your journey to having a well-behaved dog by focusing on creating reliable behaviors and getting your dog to understand how to listen and respect you. In our Basic class you will learn commands such as:

• Sit
• Down
• Leave it
• Come
• Stay
• Walking nicely on a leash

• Potty training
• Chewing
• Jumping
• Digging
• Barking

Level II – Advanced
This level moves your dog from the basics to adding distractions and distance to behaviors. You will also learn more advanced behaviors like:

• Heel
• Go to your bed
• Coming when called with distractions
• Stay with distance and distractions

Your trainer will continue to address any outstanding behavioral issues you might have. The prerequisite for this class is a Level I – Basic Puppy or Adult or Trainer Approval.

Level III – Public Polishing/CGC Prep
This class is designed to make your dog a well-behaved in public, or to prepare you for the CGC or therapy dog test. Your dog will learn how to:

• Sit politely by your side for petting
• Greet a friendly stranger,
• Heel through a crowd
• Deal with advanced distractions
• Heel politely toward someone new

The prerequisite for this class is Level II – Advanced or trainer approval.

Advanced Behavior Modification
Every dog is different – there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to training. Our Certified Behavior Buddies trainers specialize in assessing canine behavior then choosing the appropriate tools to manage behaviors and create manageable and obedient dogs!
Our advanced behavior modification training is one-on-one with you and your trainer, and can take place in the comfort of your home or at Camp Bow Wow. Your trainer will design a program specifically tailored to your pooch using various proven training methodologies. You and your trainer will work together to fix whatever behavior issues you are having, including:

• Aggression towards people and/or other animals
• Fear of people, other animals or objects
• Fence fighting
• Leash reactivity
• Modification practices for high drive behaviors

• A detailed game plan for fixing your dog’s behavioral issues
• Hands-on instruction in behavior modification
• Description, demonstration and practice of all tools
• Personal one-on-one attention from a Certified Behavior Buddies trainer

Our Certified Behavior Buddies trainers are qualified to help you with any issue you have with your favorite four-legged friend and training can be done at a Camp Bow Wow or Home Buddies location, or at your home.

Private Training
Do you have a hectic schedule, issues that can’t be addressed in a classroom setting, or just want personal one-on-one attention with your dog? We’ve got you covered! Our Behavior Buddies trainer offers private training, as well. There are various types of private training you can choose to meet the needs of you and your pup:

• One-on-one training in the privacy of your own home
  
• Board and Train – While your dog is boarding at Camp Bow Wow® our Certified Behavior Buddies trainer will spend time privately addressing any training issues with your dog that you want fixed. When you return home, your trainer will give you a personal session to go over the behaviors that they worked on with your dog so you can continue the work they started.
  
• Play and Train – While your dog is enjoying Day Camp, the trainer will take your dog aside for a session of training on leash walking, jumping, or anything else you want them to help your dog learn.

• Leash Walking – Walking frustrates many parents because it is not enjoyable to be dragged down the street. Our Camps and Home Buddies provide private training specifically for leash walking.
