About Camp Bow Wow Elmwood Park

Campsite Amenities
Camp Bow Wow is a premier doggy day care and non-traditional boarding kennel, which means the pups are busy with camp activities during the day and go to their cabins only at meal time and bedtime.
The campsite is a combination of climate-controlled indoor and outdoor space for short hiking trips. Each Camper is assigned his or her private Cabin (although siblings are allowed to stay in the same cabin) including a comfy bed and private dining. To make sure our Campers do not get homesick, we welcome you to bring a little piece of home with them, such as their favorite toy, pillow, or blanket (the other camper’s will never know!).
Inside CBW you will find several play areas so that Campers with similar interests (constant play or simply a spectator), temperament, age, and size can play together. The outdoor campgrounds are separated as well and offer a variety of rough-n-tough toys to play on.
We have Camp Showers located on-site as well, in case a Camper needs a bath before returning home.
Camp Registration
Of course there’s paperwork to be completed before leaving your little Camper with us, but we promise to keep it simple. Here’s a list of what you need to bring to the pre-stay interview:
- Verification of up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella (canine cough).Bordatella must be administered with in 6 months of staying or visiting our camp, regardless of your veterinarian's policy. There are no exceptions to these requirements, and is for the safety and wellbeing of all of our guests
- The name, address, and phone numbers of an emergency contact not traveling with you,and your Veterinarian if you have one you prefer to use.
That’s it! Just don’t forget to bring your social, spayed/neutered Camper with you when you visit so we can meet.

IMPORTANT HEALTH INFORMATION FOR ALL DOG OWNERS
LOCAL VETERINARIANS ARE SEEING AN INCREASE IN UPPER RESPIRTORY INFECTIONS IN DOGS IN OUR AREA. THEY ARE SEEING THIS IN DOGS THAT VISIT GROOMERS, DAYCARE/BOARDING FACILITIES AND MANY FROM THE LOCAL DOG PARKS, ESPECIALLY RIDGEWOOD DOG PARK. IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY DOGS THAT VISIT THE DOG PARK DEVELOPING UPPER RESPIRTORY INFECTIONS FROM COMING INTO CONTACT WITH INFECTED DOGS. WE AT CAMPHAVE MANY CAMPERS THAT FREQUENT THE DOG PARK AND FEEL OBLIGATED TO KEEP OUR CLIENTS INFORMED ON THIS ISSUE. ALTHOUGH WE REQUIRE THE BORDETELLA VACCINATION EVERY 6 MONTHS, THIS IS A DIFFERENT STRAIN NOT COVERED BY THE VACCINATION.
