Meet the Dog Trainer
Training services will be provided by Alicia Ruggini. Alicia is Camp Bow Wow Bridgewater's Certified Bow Wow Behavior Buddies Trainer.
Alicia has had a lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs. Since a young age, she took an interest in animal behavior and has spent a good deal of time studying different species. She joined Camp Bow Wow in 2006 and because of her natural handling skills, she has been an asset to our team. Alicia attends various training conferences and seminars to keep up to date on the latest training techniques. She also volunteers and fosters for Rawhide Rescue, where she also gets to utilize her training skills. Her home is filled with a Labrador, a Sheltie mix, a Husky, a Jack Russell Terrier, a Miniature Pinscher and at least one foster dog. She spends much of her free time working with her own dogs and looks forward to sharing her skills and knowledge with you!
The Trainer’s Training
Bow Wow Behavior Buddies training started with an intense 4-week submersion into the world of becoming a dog trainer. Taught by two nationally renowned dog trainers with instructor Aimee Sadler teaching the scientific principles and Nick Fisher bringing his successful pack psychology to modify behavior, these two well-known figures lend their expertise to the training efforts.
To become certified under the Bow Wow Behavior Buddies program, new dog trainers learn a multitude of training tools: clickers, to dog packs, to electronic collars and everything in between. Since Behavior Buddies Dog Trainers are not taught a specific method they are equipped to handle a myriad of behavior issues - an area where some method-based trainers fall flat.
