Make a right onto Chimney Rock Road (landmarks include Somerville Lumber on the right, a sign for Bridgewater Business Park, a sign for Commerce Bank Ball Park, and railroad tracks). The turn is approximately two miles from the Bridgewater Commons Mall.
Travel on Chimney Rock Road until you pass the UPS customer service center on the right and the overpass for route 287.
Make the first right after this – you will be turning into a small business park between buildings 7W and 8W.
Go back to the fence where you will see our sign at 10W.
If you get to Route 28 you went about ¼ mile too far so you should turn around.
Route 22 West
We are located on the east side of Route 22; if you are on west side of Route 22 you will need to make a U-turn. Landmarks to look for in order to make the u-turn are The Bridgewater Diner and a restaurant called The Office. Once on Route 22 East follow the directions above.
Campsite Amenities
Camp Bow Wow is a premier doggy day care and non-traditional boarding kennel, which means the pups are busy with camp activities during the day and go to their individual cabins only for meals, rest, and bedtime.
The campsite consists of 6,125 square feet of indoor, climate-controlled space and 800 square feet of outdoor space for short hiking trips. The total campsite is made up of 76 cabins so that each Camper has his or her private space (although siblings are allowed to stay in the same cabin) including a comfy bed and private dining. To make sure our Campers do not get homesick, we welcome them to bring a little piece of home with them, such as their favorite toy, pillow, or blanket (the other camper’s will never know!).
Inside Camp Bow Wow Bridgewater you will find five play areas so that Campers with similar interests (constant play or simply a spectator), temperament, age, and size can play together. Each indoor area exits to its own fenced outdoor campground.
The Camp Showers are located on-site as well in case a Camper needs a bath, trim, or nails done before returning home. (See our Dog Grooming page for more information)
We work closely with several local trainers and host training classes and seminars frequently. See our Events Calendar for specific information or our Dog Training page for more information on training.
Camp Registration
Of course there’s paperwork to be completed before leaving your little Camper with us, but we promise to keep it simple. Here’s a list of what you need to bring to the pre-stay interview:
- Verification of up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella (kennel cough) within the last 6 months.
- The name, address, and phone numbers of an emergency contact and your Veterinarian if you have one you prefer to use.
- There will also be an application to fill out. Feel free to print it and fill it out ahead of time by clicking on Reservations.
That’s it! Just don’t forget to bring your social, spayed/neutered Camper with you when you visit so we can meet.
Our convenient, extended hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Sunday/Holidays from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 –7:00 p.m. We interview our potential Campers six days per week but we ask that you make an appointment so we can spend plenty of time with you. If you would like to take a tour, stop by anytime during our normal business hours – we’re “paws-itive” you’ll love what you see!
Camp Counselors
Each of Camp Counselors is a dog fanatic who is trained in Dog behavior and Canine First Aid. We put our Camper’s safety and well-being first by ensuring that Counselors are with the pups while at play.
Many of our Counselors come to us from canine rescue organizations and have previous experience in boarding/day care facilities. Their love for animals is not just a job – it’s a passion!
Camp History
Our “tail” is not unlike the other Camp Bow Wow owners and we find that we are definitely in good company. We had always dreamed of owning our own business and when pondering “what” that business should be, we kept coming back to the dogs.
We began a search for an existing kennel but couldn’t find anything to really get excited about. Just when we started to give up, we found Camp Bow Wow on the internet. We traveled to Colorado to tour the existing locations and were positive that we had found the right opportunity for us. Camp Bow Wow provided us everything we were looking for – owning our own business, being with the dogs (which makes us very happy), and providing a valuable community service, not only to those dogs fortunate enough to have a loving home, but also to those looking for their very own human by fostering rescued dogs.
That’s how we came to own a Camp Bow Wow, but we also want to point out what we think makes us different. As long-time dog-owners and serious travelers for many years, we struggled with leaving our dogs, Jessie and Liberty (and Prissy cat) with strangers who would make sure they had food and water every day, but would not treat them with the love and attention that we provide on a daily basis. They would often come home sick, having lost weight, and VERY smelly. We would always shake our heads and wonder why it was so difficult to find a kennel that we felt good about.
When we saw Camp Bow Wow for the first time, we were blown away! Everyone was smiling, the dogs were frolicking and not a dog odor to be found – how could this be??
We were so impressed that customer service, cleanliness and safety were priorities – finally, a business operating the way we envisioned it should be.
As you can imagine, Jessie and Liberty were our first customers at Camp Bow Wow Bridgewater, but we’re also looking forward to adding your special furry friend to our Camp Bow Wow family.
