Second Chance Pups Dog Training Program
Second Chance Pups offers a very unique opportunity to dogs and inmates at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. Inmates can volunteer for the dog training program to teach obedience, train, and socialize dogs selected from the Rescue Shelters. This program not only give the pup a better chance of being adopted, but helps in the rehabilitation of the inmates as well.
The training helps the dogs become better canine citizens and have a second chance at a life long relationship with a loving family.

CAESARCaesar is the name and I’m here to look for my new family! I’m a super sweet, 4 year old, neutered male, Fawn, Great Dane with lots of love to give! I’m here because my family invited an HVAC guy over to do some repairs and didn’t tell me. When he approached the house, I thought that I needed to protect everyone, so I lightly bit the guy. I barely broke the skin but things spiraled out of control and all of a sudden, I’m here. Who can fault me for being loyal to my family? If you can look past my little snafu everything else about me is cherries and rainbows! I’ve spent time at doggie daycare and love hanging out with other dogs and cool dog people. I have always lived with kids. My family had 3 of them ranging from 8 years old to 1 and they were my buddies, but given my history the rescue is recommending no children just to be safe. Anyone will tell you that I’m trusted to behave myself when inside the house, and inside is where I prefer to be. On top of that, I’m house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. I must confess I’m a couch potato. I don’t do anything obnoxious like chewing or digging in the yard. I really enjoy a good squirrel chase, so my ideal family will probably want to have a fenced yard! I’ve heard of these other critters called ‘cats’, but I’ve never seen one, so I’m not sure how much I will like them. I hope that you will give me a chance to prove my undying love and loyalty to you! Caesar is available for adoption through the Big Dogs Huge Paws rescue group, if you are interested in meeting Caesar give us a call at (402) 474-9663 and we can schedule a time for you to meet with the rescue representative. |
